So, random question: Do inconsistencies in TV shows bother you?
For example: In Everybody Loves Raymond the houses that they show after every commercial could not possibly be the houses that Ray and his parents really live in. The windows on the outside don't match where the windows are on the inside. Bugs me EVERY TIME. They build the sets, why not just make them make sense?

I don't like when they replace characters. Like getting a new sister, or mom and acting like nothing changed! lol

Yes!!!!!! I get all excited/annoyed when I notice a difference (the person sitting behind a character at a coffee shop changes) and spend 5 mins rewinding and fast forwarding to show DH who couldn't care less.

I get annoyed when shows set in NY are set I'm these roomy, nice apartments and the people who love there have jobs that could never pay for it!
I know, bitter at NY rents much?!

@Bao: lol yes. Or characters just disappear. Like in That 70s show, in the first season Donna has a sister. Then she disappears and no one ever mentions her again. Or on Seinfeld in one episode he mentions having a sister but in 9 seasons we never hear about her or see her.
@Mrs. Taco: haha I let this slide a little more because I know how many takes one season can be comprised of. I was an extra on a tv show once and it took like 2 hours to take a 2 minutes scene. But I do notice things like when they are in a restaurant and a drink is full then empty then full again in like 2 seconds.
@Aimed: hah I think you have to just suspend belief a little for that sort of thing. If they made TV shows about the way poor 20 somethings ACTUALLY live in NY no one would watch them

Yes, and when I get bothered by them, it annoys DH who is like,"Who cares?" I also annoy him by pointing out stupid lyrics to songs. He says, "Can't you just let me enjoy the song?"

Yes!! The opening credits to Sex and the City drive me nuts...towards the end they show a bus driving behind Carrie and it's full of people, then she turns around and the bus is empty. And these were the opening credits for every episode--they never changed!

Yes. You know what this reminds me of? DH watches MacGyver and it is the silliest low budget show and there are so many inconsistencies it is actually entertaining for that aspect.

Drives me crazy…and then drives DH crazy when I rewind it to make sure I saw what I thought I did. Ha! Don't they pay people to catch these things?
Same thing with movie commercials being different to seem funnier/more relevant…i.e. for the Ride Along in the commercial where he's shooting, he's holding a pistol at the range and then shoots a huge shotgun-type gun with kickback. Or the one from a while back where the little girl shoots the arrow into someone's leg and says "I'm Katniss!" but in the movie it's Pocahontas.

Add me to the 'ugggggh!!!' Camp! I always hate it when people don't have their clothes/hair/makeup the same way. Like after a fight scene and their hair looks more put together or there's blood one second then it's gone...come on!
I also can't stand it when background noises aren't correct, like someone wearing boots sounds like they're in stilettos or a squeaky hinge sound is for a brand new door. The job title for those people is a foley artist and it's totally a job my nerdy ass wanted

@indi: I feel the same way about AMC's previews. Mad Men is the worst. I stopped watching the "scenes from next week" because they are ALWAYS edited to make it look like something happens that doesn't.
