Every time without fail. Socks and shoes. She wears the fleece booties from Old Navy and is about to outgrow them.
Are the Zutano harder to get off?

Every.Single.Time. I always hope people don't judge me and my shoeless baby.

@Pancakes: every old person in the world is judging you! seriously though..if I get one more side eye about my hatless, shoeless baby..I'll show them the video of my possessed little treasure troll and say "bless your heart!"

All. The. Time. I'm almost to the point where I don't even want to bother putting socks and shoes on C as she takes them off within a minute of being in the car. I wouldn't care except she always manages to get at least one sock and shoe to an improbable space between the car seat and car, making it very difficult to extricate!

All the time! I put E in high top converse double knotted. He can't get those off.

He used to do this ALL the time and it drove me nuts! And well into toddlerhood too! It would be 5 degrees outside, and he'd be sockless and shoeless in the backseat.
I can't remember when/why he stopped, he just did.

LO1 never did this. LO2 does it every time she's in the car. It drives me insane. If we're running late, I put her shoes and socks in my purse and then put them on her when we get to our destination.

Yep. He's 21 months, and he's amazingly fast at it. Fully shoe and socked when we put him in but no matter how close our destination is, totally barefoot when we arrive. He's also started doing it in the stroller.

Yup. The second I put her down she pulls her socks off, then laughs and hands them to me. Little stinker. I really need to get shoes for her...

Yep. Every time without fail. In the mornings I don't even bother to put shoes and socks on him until we're about to get out of the car to go into day care. People can judge all they want.

@twodoghouse: dang! my luck she'd just decide to sit back there studying the snaps and figure those out...
she also immediately chews her socks to heck. so we arrive sockless, shoeless, and soaked socks. I have to start bringing 3 pairs wherever we go I think.

Yes which is why I put them on after we arrive at our destination I have lost so many shoes in the backseat.

@namaste: it's sooooo cold here though! RI..where winter can last from October to May hahaha!

@sorrycharlie: Oh boo! Well yes definitely don't listen to me. We're still in the high 80s. -_-

Yes! And doesnt always let me put them back on. So most of the time I'm that parent who has a shoeless child.

He did it frequently as an infant/early walker. He does it occasionally now on the ride home from daycare, but it's always just one side. So weird! He'll also ask for me to take his socks and shoes off if we've been in the car for awhile (like a road trip).

Yep. Insists on putting her shoes on to walk the 25 feet across our covered patio to the garage, then takes her shoes off within 10 minutes of being I the car.

@anonysquire: Um.. Is that you?! My kid would faint!

@sorrycharlie: lmao!!! No! Not me. You can see my fat shadow in the background.

@sorrycharlie: if she can get socks and shoes off, I can't imagine zutano booties would make a difference. Can she still wear footed pants? Or just put her in tights every day?

@Foodnerd81: Shoes is probably too strong a word lol. These things --

Mine prefers to chuck hers out of the stroller in Target, then set to work on her socks. I seriously don't know what I'm going to do in a month or so when it's REALLY cold!
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@sorrycharlie: ahh. The zutano booties might buy you an extra ten minutes. The first couple Of times.
