I take it as maybe she's trying to get extra kudos for things she feels like she's done especially well. I would honestly probably just tell her that you know and that's why you hired her. I wish I had a maid in my life!

I don't have a cleaning lady, but judging by your description of her, I'd assume she's probably just thinking out loud. I don't think she means it maliciously. I say similar things to my husband when I clean my own house, and clearly I'm not being judgmental of myself.
Maybe try telling her how you feel? I doubt she realizes that she's being hurtful. I'd just say something along the lines of, "I'm pregnant, so I'm probably being over sensitive, but when you make comments like that it makes me feel like your judging the condition of my home. I know you don't mean it that way, but would you mind curbing those kinds of comments?" I'm sure she'd be understanding!

@Nskillet: Yes, demean her profession and let her know how "superior" you are. That's hilarious...

I think you guys are probably right that she's just making small talk and also maybe I should compliment her more on what a good job she does (because maybe she doesn't think I notice the little things?) Because even though it makes me feel awkward, it is hard work and I know we are really lucky to have someone to help us out right now.
