I received the Baby K'Tan from our registry in the mail today and was super excited, so I took it out and showed DH, with a teddy bear, how it works. He is all about using the bigger baby carrier, but said he wouldn't wear the K'tan-- even after I pointed out that there is a man on the box!
But I kind of figured he'd say that, and he might need the size up anyway. Just curious if other men wore the wrap or if that is usually the mom only?

He can't wear the Ktan, it is too small for him. He would if he could. We just bought an Ergo so he can wear R.

He wore the Moby when LO was small and now wears the ergo. He loves babywearing!

My seven sling is too small for him but he bought a Jelly bean or whatever those are called from Target and he wears it occasionally.

DH has never worn any of our carriers. He will complain about carrying DS and him being heavy but refuses to try one our SSC/wraps/MT/RS. He insists that he would get too hot in them and be even more miserable.
Side note: Even though he has never worn one and I didn't think he really paid that much attention to how they work I was pleasantly surprised and proud when he pointed out the improper babywearing of a dad at Costco (the man had the baby outward facing in a Moby with the baby wrapped with the crotch only and the wrap low at the man's crotch).

SO had the same reaction! He is excited to wear LO in the Gemini or the Bjorn, but has no interest in a ktan in his size.
BTW, LO is just 2 weeks old and I already love the ktan for this stage.

@Revel: Seriously the Ktan is my savior some days. I liked it better when she was a newborn then wearing her with her feet out.

@Revel: Exactly-- he's super excited about the Beco Gemini, but not the wrap. But I'm glad you like it at this stage- that's exactly when I plan to wear it. @scg00387: I described the Moby wrap to him (since we are borrowing one from a friend) and he was just like.... yeah, that sounds too hard. That's for you, I'll wear him when he's bigger in the real carrier. (We are team green, we just refer to this poor kid as him all the time)

@Foodnerd81: Aw I was so intimidated by it too and put off trying it until he was a month and a half... but it seriously isn't that hard! He might change his mind once he sees LO snuggled up hands free

He has worn the moby and the ergo...he loved wearing the moby when Lo was teeny because it was so snuggly and Lo would just sleep in there. He likes babywearing a lot actually! I think it's super cute I think it helps that a ton of dads in our neighborhood babywear so it's common to see.

DH couldn't wear the K'tan b/c it didn't fit him BUT I'm getting a ring sling a friend is making me & he said "sure" to wearing that!

I'm an XS in ye k'tan and dh would be XL. He tried to ergo once and he actually had his own that has our nfl team as fabric but he hasn't really needed it yet. Maybe this summer he'll try it out.

Yup! He has a ktan of his own, which he preferred to the Beco at first. He loves wearing her!

Thanks to hand me downs we have a Moby, Snugli, Bjorn (*2), Ergo, sling, & K'tan. When LO was a newborn I used the K'tan and DH uses the Moby. Now at 16 weeks DH uses the Bjorn and I use the Ergo. He loves wearing her.

Yeah, we bought the ktan in his size and a seven sling in my size to tide us over until she fits in the ergo. If all three of us are out then he's the one wearing her! How is the ktan girly??

DH wore our LO a ton when he was little. It was the best way to get a good nap where I could also nap, and DH could work on research. He loved the moby for the first 3 months. He also used the ergo as well. He didn't like my ring sling though.
Now that LO is bigg, the moby is harder for him to use, so he just uses the ergo. We LOVE babywearing. I wrap DS in my girasol wrap usually on a day for a nap...

@mjane: It's not that the k'tan specifically is girly, but the wrapping in general just doesn't do it for him. He prefers the more "gear" looking SSCs like Ergo or Beco. It's funny because he is so all about babywearing just not with a wrap. Glad he's not the only one.

he never tried the k'tan because we're different sizes, but he does love wearing the ergo. i'm not sure if he would do the k'tan, sling or wrap. definitely not a wrap, because it's too complicated!

Especially since I'm pregnant again and I get hot so easily DH always wears W when we go out. He prefers half buckles, won't wear a ring sling at all since he has other carriers he prefers.

He insisted that we register for a black K'Tan so that he won't feel dorky wearing it. That being said, I hope that the one we get fits him. If not, I'm sure we'll be looking at a different carrier that we can both use!

@maybebaby: I showed him the borrowed moby this morning-- definte no for him! But he will wear the baby as soon as he or she is big enough for the Beco.
