I can't seem to get K to sit as high as the picture. An I seem to have more of my side boob area exposed than the picture. Does it look weird or am I wearing her right?

Looks right to me! That's way higher than I could ever get LO to sit.

@highwire: Thanks. That picture looks so perfect, I can't figure out how to do it so it looks like that!
@Rainbow Sprinkles: Thanks but LOL! I just came on to the computer and saw the pic all big and went "eww!"

@shopaholic: You do look great! I haven't broken ours out yet. I need too. Is is hard to put on by yourself?

@shopaholic: first off - you look amazing!
I would try to get her head up a little more - you don't want to have her chin tucked forward too much because it will restrict her airway.
You can use the shoulder strap of the k'tan to hold LO's head in place.
There is a great picture on this site showing how the babe should be on your chest:

Edit to include: I don't mean to be preachy its just really important for breathing and development that they are positioned correctly.

No advice...my baby isn't here yet, but I just wanted to say how great you look and how adorable K is!
Also, this makes me wish that someone would buy the K'Tan off my registry already!

not a k'tan user, but you look effing amazing my friend xo

You look great! I think the only thing is you want her head to be more upright so she has a fully open airway. I usually tuck his head in the fabric to support it.

@littlebittyhouse: oh not preachy at all! I couldn't figure out how to get her higher! The newborn instructions didn't say how to use the extra band. I will have to look and try it again!
@mole: I want to wear her properly but the instructions say to not cover her head? So confusing!
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: @Smurfette: @littlebittyhouse: @hergreenapples: @mrsjyw: @tororojo: Thanks ladies!

@shopaholic: rules of thumb are that she should be high enough that you are able to kiss her head and that the chin is off their chest.
I know you're using a k'tan but this is a good (moby) instruction sheet on how to get them in the 'pocket'
http://www.mobywrap.com/mw/newborn-hug.htm
Also: It takes practice! Someone once told me that baby wearing is a bizarre skill set to have, and it is true! It is not typically something that you can call someone and say "Hi, can you come over and show me how to wear my baby"

so cutie!
like others have said, the chin is not supposed to touch the chest, but i couldn't really get that to happen with that hold. i didn't worry about it too much as long as he was breathing and not spitting up.

I don't have any advice but wanted to say you look phenomenal and baby shopaholic looks so sweet!

Damn, you don't look like you just had a baby! Woman, you're hot!

@shopaholic: Oops, I wasn't very clear! I try to get the fabric supporting his head like the stock photo you posted (where the fabric is over the very back of the baby's head but not covering his face).
This lack of clarity just illustrates how difficult it is to learn how to work these dang wraps using printed instructions.

I used the K'tan tonight to walk the dogs. This is what I meant about tucking his head.

@mole: For realz! Thanks for the pic to illustrate too. I need to get her higher - maybe when she's a little bigger or I can put a pillow inside under her bum! heehee

@shopaholic: Thank you! In comparing the pictures, K is such a little peanut! I can't wait to see more photos of her.
