@chopsuey119: I always freak out when hubby is gone too. Luckily we have a pretty big dog that would warn me if somebody was in our house.

Oh thats scary, especially seeing as you were alone! <gulp>
I never thought we would need/want one where we are. Out in the country and all. But a few houses in our area were broken into so we got one.

i'm assuming you weren't? you know, it really upsets me that these people have to steal things we worked so hard for. really makes me mad! hope everything's okay!!!!
we don't have an alarm system in our current home (which we are renting).... but we used to have it in our rental home (it's not connected but it's set up)....

Artbee I feel that way too! My husband is gone all the time and it's just me, the nanny and now my two little ones. My nanny has a dog but he is friendly and useless haha. We have an alarm system and there are armed guards in the actual building but it is NYC and after watching that show with the professional thieves, they like to go where the money is! We listed our home for sale a while back and the realtor had pictures of the pool/spa room and game room and living room and it made me really nervous. The professional thieves really do their homework.
