There's always that stereotype about men that don't like to change poopy diapers. And my man fits that stereotype! He kvetchs so much that I'm started to just change the baby myself so I don't have to listen to him anymore. Which is pretty silly because being a SAHM, I'm the one changing most of the poopy diapers anyway!
Am I the only one who's hubby hates a poopy diaper?

We don't have a baby yet but when we do hubs can kvetch all he wants... he's still changing his fair share of poopy diapers!!

I don't tolerate that kind of stuff. He can hate it all he wants, heck, I don't love it either!

He took care of almost all her diapers when she was first born and was proud of her every time she pooped. Now I think it's lost it's glamour a bit but he still doesn't mind. We'll see as she transitions more to solids if that changes, she had a different kind of poo after eating lots over Thanksgiving and it was horrible and stinky, smelled like a real poop. He thought it was funny while I thought it was super gross.

No, in fact I always hand her to him if it is a poop! He changes more diapers than me nowadays. That is his contribution to our household since I do just about everything else.

I call my husband "chief of outputs" -- if he's available to change a diaper, it's all his. He has a 5-year-old's sense of humor about poop, so he doesn't really mind. And if he did mind, well, there would be hell to pay!
Also, I figure that I've got no choice but to feed him since I BF, so he has to step up on the back end of the process, so to speak.

Yep, he fits the typical male stereotype, gagging and all that, but he still does it. We (I) established a rule verrrry early on: I feed with my boobies, you get to change the poopies. At first, he was like, "How is that fair?", and then jokingly complained to his dad about the rule. His dad said, "Seems fair to me." I love Pops

I don't breastfeed so my hubby gets to help feed her a lot, I can't use that as my excuse.
@Maysprout: My hubby also changed every single diaper in the hospital. I had a bad tear and didn't want to get out of bed unless I had to, so he did everything. Although he did miss out on that first really gross diaper change that everyone tells you about b/c she pooped on me.... twice. Right after she was born when we were doing skin on skin.
He always acts like it's such a hard job to change a diaper, and like it's a 2 man job. Ummm.... who's helping me every day during the day? In his defense she does have pretty big poops.

mr. bee changes most of charlie's poppy diapers! charlie has had solid poops for awhile which are easier to deal with that the soft poops he used to have as a baby. but solid poops are much, much stinkier!

Luckily for me I don't have a sense of smell... my hubby does. Maybe I should be a little easier on him because of that!

I don't mind changing Charlie's diapers. Some of them are nasty so I have to handwash his booty. As I wash his bum by hand, I often think, "Man, I must love my son."
It's a good incentive to start potty training!

My husband didn't really mind but would only change a diaper if I was otherwise occupied. Thankfully we haven't had to deal with poopy diapers for about a year now

Nope! He doesn't mind at all. He's gone though two kids already so a third one won't phase him. I have changed more poopy diapers in my life than I can count and I don't even have kids or little siblings!

for about the first month or so DH would examine her poops to make sure they looked "normal" he would put it up to the light and everything! -- I think he likes to deal with the diapers, its kinda like his own time to talk to her and make her smile and he feels like hes helping me.

My hubby will do it but usually pulls his shirt up over his nose when he does it. It is really funny. I usually just change those diapers because it doesn't bother me as much.

@mrbee: I spoke too soon. There was part of a leaf in her poop today - perhaps not glamorous but I think it's going to get my husband back to being poop intrigued. Guess I didn't grab all the grass out of her little fingers when we were outside the other day.

If the hubs is starting to change LO's diaper and it's a poop, he'll call me and ask me to take over. It's annoying but to watch him struggle and make comments about it would annoy me even more so I just deal with it.
My mom says that only a mother could appreciate the colour and texture of a baby's poo. I do inspections and my hubs things I'm gross.
Because I'm at home all day with the baby, I can do a diaper change in seconds. The hubs, on the other hand, doesn't change that many diapers and it takes him MINUTES to do it and it drives me nuts. It's not his fault, though.

It's not his favorite thing to do, bur I can't blame him because it's not mine either. However, he will often do it without being asked. Or if we are both being lazy we let a game of rock, paper, scissors decide who get to gets to do it.

@mrbee: My husband HATES getting her poo on him. It's baby poo, doesn't bother me at all. He would never hand wash our baby's poop. You're a good dad!
@lovelife: My hubby is colorblind so he has to call me in if a poop looks weird. Poor guy has gotten freaked out b/c some dark green ones look red to him!

@Rubies: I know! But I feel like if I don't give him practice, he'll never get good at it. He always tells me that I should do things b/c I'm better at it. And I have to say it's because I'm home with her all day doing it, so you have to do it too to get good!

@mrbee: But it's your baby's poop! You should be able to deal with it. As there's a good chance they'll be changing our diapers one day, and that will make them good kids
