Yesterday it was around 90 degrees here, and I took my 3 month old LO to the Korean grocery store. She was dressed in summer gear, without socks, and I was wearing her in the carrier. At checkout, the two Korean women asked me why my baby wasn't wearing socks and were concerned that her feet would be cold. This got me thinking/concerned...but wondering if maybe it's a Korean thing?

It's been over 100 here so I haven't been putting socks on her. I don't really worry about her feet getting cold, but my MIL made a comment when she was here. Maybe it's an older generational thing?
The past few days I have noticed that she's scratching her legs up with her toenails so I've started putting sock on her. -
That's funny! I keep my baby in socks even though it's hot here because for some reason her little feet are always freezing. But today I was visiting my friend, who's Jamaican, and she was like, why do you have socks on that baby in this hot weather?!

No socks bc it's hot and she's not mobile. Once cooler weather hits I'll be putting socks on her. -
Nope never! We have so many socks and booties but it has been warm since he was born.

Sometimes I do, but I had an older lady say the same thing to me. It was like 100 degrees and she scolded me for not havinh sozks on her.

I only put socks on her if she's wearing shoes outside. Other than that, no socks!

Rarely does he ever wear socks. I did get approached by two old ladies (not Korean) who told me that my baby looked cold. I think it is just an old lady thing.
It was 110 outside, we were in Walmart, and he was dead to the world asleep. So I doubt that he was freezing to death. I usually am the first person on the planet to get cold, so I go by the rule of dressing him similar to myself.

My MIL and DH's grandma both think LO should wear socks ALL the time. They said it would make him less fussy?! We tried putting them on him when we brought him home from the hospital, but they always fell off. Now we cover his legs and feet with a light A&A blanket when we're out shopping and know he'll be in air conditioning for awhile. We don't bother with socks unless we're putting shoes on him, too.

Must be Korean/Asian thing... my mom and all the older Korean ladies always harass me about LO being barefoot (even though it's been in the 80s here).

It's a Mexican thing too! I only put socks on if it was cold, and was seriously stopped by strangers on almost every outing kindly letting me know he didn't have socks on! (In case I forgot, they fell, or something...)
