My LO's usually like to bring a stuffed animal of some sort in the car when we are going somewhere. I let them, but I like them to keep it in the car instead of bringing it into the store, or wherever we are that's public. When we go to my parents house I let them pack a bag of toys, my parents have toys at their house but they still like to bring their things to play along with the stuff already there.

Nope! Sometimes he wants to bring a ball but usually we don't.

For normal outings, no. If I know we are going to end up in a restaurant/café, I will take a little bag of small toys and let them play with those while we eat.

No, I don't let them bring toys out. If we're going out to eat, I bring books and coloring stuff.

Yes, all the time. He gets very fixated on holding things, they don't even have to be toys. He loves measuring cups (scoopies), spatulas (lala), and spoons (foon). He also has a couple small stuffed animals and some little toys cars. There are days when he needs something in each hand and gets very upset if I try to get him to leave it at home. About half the time I can get him to leave it in the car. Everyone at daycare thinks it's hilarious when he walks in with a giant wooden spoon or a spatula.

They always get a book or small toy when we ride in the car. I try not to take a bunch of stuff when we go in someplace because it's hard to keep track of two kids and all their toys! A went through a phase where she was very attached to her stuffed animals, so I'd let her to take them in to the grocery store or wherever. She's sort of cooled it on her animals though so we do without.

Sometimes he wants to take a toy with him in the car to daycare - my husband (who does drop-offs) always explains that the toy can come but it has to stay in the car, it can't go to school with him. So far that's been fine.

She brings her bear to school as a security thing but lets it go after about a minute in class and her teachers pack it away. Sometimes she'll bring it in the car if we're going somewhere but when we get to our location I tell her the bear needs to stay and guard the car for us.

He usually brings a matchbox car with us, but the deal is he has to leave it in the car. We might bring a book or sight word flash cards or something in with us if we go out to eat.

Yes, she brings either her teddy bear or baby doll with us in the car. She is allowed to bring them everywhere but preschool. I don't know how we would get her out of the house without them. I figure she will grow out of it someday, she's only 3.5.

Nope! We tell him we're going out so to leave it at home. He can play with it when we get home.
He does have a few cars in DH's car though.

Not usually but sometimes they like their stuffed animals when we have longer drives (the animals stay in our car) or for tea parties with their cousin.

Yes, her two babies. I can usually convince her to leave one in the car, but not both.

I do not let her take it out of the car - it "sleeps" in the car while she is at school.

She can take a baby with her - she usually chooses her new baby. She either leaves it in the car or, if I have a bag that will hold it, she can take it with us.

Yes, he usually brings a little hot wheels car. I don't mind. But he does have the responsibility of keeping track of it. If he loses it, he loses it.

Yes, his regular car toy is Mortimer the Moose from Lamaze. It has rings, bells, and various chewing surfaces. He likes to have something to hold onto while going to sleep, whether in the car or now for at-home naps and nighttime sleep (he has an A+A lovey for those), and it fits the bill. I like that it can hook onto his car straps or stroller straps so it won't get lost.

Yes. DD always asks if she can bring something into the minivan (she doesn't ask about it when I drive her in my sedan haha).. ranges from plushies, dolls, books, random things like a tiny bag with a bracelet.. We let her take 1-2 for the most part but she leaves them in the car when we get to our destination, especially if it's like the mall, Target, daycare, etc. I don't mind.

Sometimes. Lately DS had been bringing his puppy lovey into the van but we tell him to leave it there when we get to our destination.

All the time. Then he hands over whatever it is to DH, and if it's me picking him up after day care I have to listen to 15 minutes of "but where's my Thomas? I want Thomas back!" And if course as soon as DH gets home he gets the same question
