Charlie's new thing is to tell me to "stop talking" when I'm talking to Mrs. Bee and not him (say, at the dinner table). So rude, no? I correct him, but he still does it if we're ignoring him and he wants attention...
Does your LO ever ask you to "stop talking"? How do you manage it?

This must be a 3-year-old thing! My best friend's daughter has recently started doing this too! My friend and her daughter will be over and my friend will be trying to talk to me, and her daughter will just be all "Shhh!" or "Stop talking!" especially to her mom.
I don't have any advice because I don't have kids yet, but my friend will just tell her "That's not very nice to say - I'm in the middle of a conversation and I will stop when I finish what I have to say" and then just ignore her daughter if she continues to insist that we "stop talking." I don't know if that's the right way to go about it or not, but I'm hoping her daughter eventually learns she's being rude!

We taught him to say "excuse me" then we acknowledge him, either by letting him speak or expressing that he needs to wait a moment. It has stuck, It now seems like he has good manners instead of being rude.

DD was big on this for a while. We would tell her that we are having a conversation and she needs to be patient and wait her turn. It's imrpoved a lot lately, so I think this is just a phase kids grow out of.
