My kids definitely get some type of screentime on a daily basis, whether it's TV, a movie, the phone etc. Our satellite box took a crap today and it made me realize my kids probably watch too much TV when I said "what will my kids do?!" I know, super mommy moment. I obviously do activities with them and take them outside but sometimes I need them to have rest time so I can take care of myself.
Does your LO get some sort of screen time on a daily basis?

Yes, but I am looking to drastically cut it during the week because I think it's been affecting her behavior. We're out of the house by 7am and don't get home till 5:00-5:45pm. There's really no reason why she needs daily screen time during the week!

Yes. He watches one episode of bubble guppies every morning while I shower. He occasionally gets one more episode in the afternoon if I really need to get something done/he had a bad nap and I just want to sit still.

Yep - it keeps him awake while I make dinner after work/preschool. My husband works nights & I'm on my own, it's awful when he falls asleep waiting for dinner.

Yes. But I don't think it's realistic to not have any. My 3 year old is home all day with me. I mean, sometimes you have to shower, or eat or poop. I think if they're in all day daycare or school it's a lot easier to have none.

Nope. Our LO doesn't like the TV at 22 months (on sick days, I PRAY she will sit down and watch).

Yes. While I am not proud of how much they get sometimes it is what it is. When you have a 3 and almost 2 year old sometimes mommy just needs a minute.

During the week usually not except Friday night (she's at daycare all day then we play/go on a walk when we get home). She gets some every weekend, though.

I am in my first trimester so yes she gets a lot these days. Typically though she only gets in while I shower in the morning during the week and rarely on weekends.

My LO isn't really into tv yet at almost 18 months old. She'll watch for maybe 2-3 minutes and run away. She does however play on my phone for all diaper changes as that is for only way it will happen. She hates, hates it and well it sure does make everything easier.

She gets an episode of Daniel Tiger just about every morning while I get ready. Then occasionally she will watch another on in the morning, or after her nap, depending on what we are doing and how I'm feeling. Some days I just really need to lay down and rest my back and she gets more. She actually watches less on the weekends because Dh is home too so he can entertain her while I get ready and vice versa (though Dh will have sports and stuff on in the background more).
@catomd00: she watched SO much during the first trimester. I just seriously could not do anything. I actually fell asleep on the couch during half hour episodes.

Oh and she gets to watch Daniel on my old iPhone while I'm at doctors appts or similar things where I just need her to be quiet and still. I don't let her play with my phone because then she would never give it up. And we do FaceTime with my sister and nephew or my parents pretty often but I don't count that as screen time since she's interacting with family!

Yes. He only watches 1 or 2 shows a day, and I have it on for background noise. I know it's awful, but that's what works for us!

He doesn'tget any during the week because he is in daycare/preschool full time. There have been exceptions of course and he sometimes gets more than I'd like on weekends. It depends on what I'm trying to get done at home versus if we are out for the day. But it is what it is.

No, he's 20 months and we're pretty strict about it. Not having a TV helps, but he's very interested in our phones and laptops so we have to be careful.

Yup. She (DD1, 3 in a month) watches one show when her sister goes down for her morning nap and one show when she wakes up from her afternoon one. Every now and then she plays Endless Alphabet on my iPad, but not often. She only watches educational stuff, which makes a difference to me. She'll reference things she clearly learned on the shows in other activities, which is cool to see, and we're outside, crafting or playing most of the day. I think its good for both of us! The baby (11 months) doesn't get any yet.

Maybe a show per day four days out of seven. I've really been limiting screen time lately. DH on the other hand thinks it's the best thing ever. I can guarantee that if I leave him with the kids for more than ten minutes that they'll have the tv on the whole time. Bugs me to no end.

My son is almost 3.5. We had been creeping up to maybe an hour or even 1.5 hours a day between the iPad and TV shows like Daniel the Tiger, Sesame Street, and Super Why. Whenever we'd turn it off or even if we warned him that we were going to turn it off, he would LOSE IT. Very, very upset. So, we pretty much cut screens cold turkey a couple months ago. He does still FaceTime or Skype with friends/family, and we'll show an occasional short video on our phones, but that's about it. He's been doing so much better, though still has "threenager" moments here and there.

Yup. And I'm totally fine with it. She gets 5 minutes on our bus ride every morning, we watch Jeopardy together almost every evening. On nights I have to do her hair she watches DT or music on YT or she won't sit still.

She tries! She's only 2.5 months adjusted, but she will crane her neck as far as she can to try to see the tv. We're going to stop watching tv with her in the room very soon. I doubt we'll make the 2 year goal, but I'm not giving up yet!

Yes! We are fine with it. DD (3) watches in my bed in the am until DS wakes up. This is so I can sleep an extra hour or so 
We may also watch in the afternoon/evening and we just started family movie night.

Yes, and like @hilsy85: said, we are all better off for it. I'm hoping to reduce it when life is a little less crazy. But for now it sure serves its purpose!

The first month of having the new baby, the toddler was getting quite a bit of screen time between apps and tv shows. So after all the in-laws left, I drastically cut it down to nothing, and now we're slowly allowing it a bit more. I let her play a puzzles app or one of the Endless apps every other day or so, or a show in the evening. I prefer to only offer screen time in the early evening before dinner. For some reason, her behavior is much worse if she has screen time first thing in the morning or any time before bed.
She's sick today with a fever, so I let her watch 2 episodes of DT on the couch while I made her dinner and fed her.

Oh yeah. My four year old watches 2-3 episodes of Curious George in the mornings while I wake up. After nursing the baby half the night the last thing I want to do right when I wake up is talk talk talk. It's a good ritual, and it really lets my husband and I get the slow wake up that we really need. She seems to value the time as well, she gets more easily overwhelmed the days that we have to rush out of the house and skip it. Screen time is absolutely great, in small amounts and balanced with a lot of free time and active play.

Yes! My almost 4 y.o. watches shows on the ipad (curious george or daniel tiger) for the three times I nurse the baby while she is home and awake. So that adds up...but it is working for us for now. Shows are her "treat" so she can only watch for good behavior. Thankfully she has been doing pretty well although she lost her show this morning!

Yes, pretty much every day. During the week we have cartoons on while we eat breakfast. Some days this is 5 minutes and others it is 30 minutes. On the weekends the tv is on most of the morning, but after about 30 minutes or so he is usually off playing and not really watching.

Yep 30 min at breakfast and around 45 min before dinner. Doesn't affect her behavior luckily.

DD is almost 11 mo so not much, but she does get prob combined like 10 min a day, usually when I have to change her (clothes/diaper) bc she refuses to lay down!

Not really during the week. He might be playing in the room playing with trains while my mom watches the news and I'm cooking dinner, but that's pretty much it. There's really no down time for it during the week. I'm pretty lenient about it on the weekends, though, but he rarely pays much attention to it anyway. He might cuddle with me on the couch and watch something for a bit, but he'd rather be playing with trains or blocks.

Yes and I have no guilt or issues with it. Doesn't affect her behavior and certainly hasn't slowed down her vocab development or other milestones at all.
