He's 2.5 and occasionally protests them. But I can usually get him to wear them. He only has one real pair of jeans though, his other pants are all like legging jeans so they're super stretchy and easy to move in.

I'll be honest, I didn't see the point of jeans when my son was small and still napping a lot. So, we used different kids of pants. Now, I only buy ones that are lined and have a pull on waistband.

My DS hates jeans! As soon as he sees me get them out of the drawer he starts saying "no jeans mommy NO JEANS".

@blackbird: I agree- so impractical!! Plus, they are the worst pant style to wear when potty training. I would rather have my girl be able to climb and properly than be fashionable.

DD1 has always disliked them! DD2 doesn't mind them. I hope this continues because I think jeans look so good on little girls. These are all the skinny/jegging type of jeans so I feel like they are comfortable?? I can see other types being hard to move around in though.

I put LO in jeans once when he was in daycare. By the end of the day, he came home with softer pants. He's pretty much in sweatpants and track pants all the time.

My almost 2.5 year old has worn jeans once in her entire life. I don't blame her, I prefer comfy pants too! TBH I don't get jeans for newborns or young babies, they aren't comfortable and must be hard to move in!

@BadgerMom: Comfy doesn't mean you're limited to athletic or sweatpants...I use jersey or fleece lined chino pants for my son and they're extremely practical.
Gymboree has a great selection, as does Childrens Place and sometimes Gap.

My nearly 2 year old loves jeans. He picks them over softer pants almost every day (we let him choose). We didn't get him jeans until he was 18 months old though except for overalls (those are easier to move in).

My 2yo LO asks to wear her jeans - but I buy the lightweight ones with an elastic waistband. She does have a few pairs of heavier ones that she wears occasionally - but I haven't noticed her rejecting them at all!

My 3.5 year old daughter hates jeans, she'll only wear leggings. My 19 month old doesn't mind them.

D is 2 and yes, he protests them. I LOVE the Carter's knit "jeans" (we call them pajama jeans), and am heartbroken they don't make them past 24m sizes. The only jeans that he mildly tolerates are the H&M ones that are too big and as loose as possible on his waist. Otherwise, no dice. For the most part, I don't put him in "real" pants anyway. He's at daycare all day, running around and getting dirty. And I don't like to nap in real pants, so why should I expect he would? But I'm having a hard time finding knit pants that aren't either athletic mesh/swishy pants or heavy sweatpants over size 24m.

@looch: Yeah, I looked at those yesterday at Oshkosh. But I feel like even those would be warm. Am I overthinking?

@littlebug: there are varying levels....Gymbo has ones that are fleece lined and they're warm. The jersey lined are pretty light, my son, who runs hot, doesn't complain with those.

I forgot, also Old Navy has some. Full disclosure, though, my son wears a lot of sweatpants!

@looch: We got hand me down Gap lined chinos. Those are nice pants. LO seemed to not mind them this weekend.

My DS hates jeans but we did find 2 pairs that are soft enough to gain his approval. A pair from old navy (pull on) in lightweight denim and a Tea Collection denim look pant that looks like denim but is really just a regular knit pant.

She mostly wears jeggings and we even have some fleece lined jeggings. If she is in a true jean fabric, it's usually Osh Kosh overalls. DD is 2.5.

He doesnt mind st all. Wears jeans every day. They dont seem to limit his mobility at all and actually ptotect his legs and knees from getting banged up bc of the thick material. I started him young so maybe thats why, they dont bother him. He does wear leggings too, byr doesnt seem to prefer them over jeans.
