My DH does it since I don't like to and LO used to hate it, now he will ask to have it done and is fascinated when we do it.

Both of mine handle it ok. The trick I've found is to have them sit in my lap. I find it's much easier and faster to clip their nails if their hands/feet are oriented the way my own hands/feet would be if I were cutting my own nails.

@blackbird: I think it's the begin restrained that Xander really hates. He probably associates it with getting shots, haha. But yes, I do the same thing! I have to pin him down and I hold his hand and fingers so firmly!!

This is probably bad, but I started letting him play with the nail clipper while on the changing table. After a couple weeks, he seemed to figure out that it wasn't actually a torture device and started letting me cut his nails after bath. I think he finally got it that it wasnt going to hurt him. I used to pretty much restrain him on the changing table, and his nails need to be cut like once a week!
