Only once in a while.. But gosh is it annoying when she does. It feels like I have to get up every 5-10 min to put it back in her mouth.

Sometimes she holds it in herself with her little hand and it's really cute.

DD1 liked the paci but I took it away at 1 yr. So far DD2 doesn't care for it. I think she is going to suck her fingers instead.

Strangely enough, I didn't even start giving him one until he was well past six months. Not to say we didn't try but every time we would, he would keep it in for just a few minutes then spit it back out - the 'fooler', as my mother calls it sometimes, wasn't fooling him. Now at nearly a year old, I'm afraid I've helped him develop a bad habit! He can't fall asleep without one but it'll usually fall out sometime before he wakes up - although occasionally it hasn't - and depending on his mood, he may spend most of his day with it in. He's perfectly capable of picking it up and putting it back in his mouth whenever he wants to or vice versa.

I think LO has only had a paci twice in her twelve weeks of life but she will suck on her hands if she's a little hungry when I put her down for sleep

Yes. The binky is *required* for sleeping. It's always such a disaster when we accidentally leave the house without it.
@Bao: How old is your LO? Our daughter started reliably putting her binky back in on her own maybe around 7 or 8 months. It's awesome. Now we just put her down in her crib every night w/ 4 binkies scattered around her bed. When she wakes up she just grabs the nearest one and then goes back to sleep.

@Bao: Yeah... it's the most frustrating thing to have to replace the pacifier in the night. We did a little bit of sleep training around 7 months to try to get her to fall asleep without the pacifier. It was somewhat successful, but then soon afterward she started replacing her binky on her own.

Yeah, it usually falls out of her mouth but she can find it and pop it back into her mouth now.

None of mine ever used them for long. I think the longest was about three months and then they all just kept spitting them out.
