Naps are hit or miss with my toddler but I don't think it makes a difference on her behavior anymore. She is 2.
My 8 month old definitely gets cranky when she doesn't nap!

My LO doesn't really nap... she will take a 20 minute on my lap if she gets tired or cranky/ needs one. 6 months.

3.5 year old, no. 1 year old, yes, but I am lucky if she naps for long. My kids are too active for naps.

She's a good napper, and I do think she needs one, but she doesn't melt down if she misses a nap.

DS naps like a champ at home but is awful at daycare. We're lucky if we get 45 min total for the day. Usually he holds up really well though so I can't complain too much. He's 13 mo

5 months and yes. Thankfully at this point f she misses one she is just cranky and less smiley, but doesn't usually go to full meltdown mode anymore.

Almost 17 months and yes. He can go about 6 hours and then he starts to melt down/get manically destructive. Sometimes he just goes to his crib and cries.

DD1 is 2 years old and will tantrum or have meltdowns by late afternoon if she doesn't have a nap.

2 yr old definitely does. 5 yr old is falling apart by 5 pm without nap but nothing I can do about it since there is no longer any napping in kinder!

We can go without it, but we definitely get better behavior on days we do naps.

Oh, yes. She's flexible about the exact time, and has no problem sleeping while being worn, or strolled. But, at five months, she *needs* at least two naps, a day.

My 12 month old definitely needs to nap. If he starts getting fussy and its close to his nap time all I have to do is ask him, "Do you need a nap?" and he comes running.

Yes! She is cranky if she goes 2 hours between naps. I can't even imagine if she didn't nap all day long (she'll be 5 months on Friday).

Absolutely! My LO (almost 7 months) is down to two naps and is a cranky mess if she goes more than 4 hours without sleep. I can't imagine how we would go all day without her napping
grapefruit / 4213 posts
Yep, she's only 2.5 months old so naps are necessary (but unfortunately hard to come by).
pomegranate / 3604 posts
Yes! He can go 3-4 hours and then it is cranky-city around here. Sometimes he naps 2x a day, sometimes once (but goes to bed early those days). He's almost 17 months.

15 months and YES!! If we miss a nap all sleep is thrown off for at least a week.
