LO1 never slept with a night light until a few weeks ago. We had a light up pumpkin that we put in her room for decoration, and once we put that away she insisted on another light, so we put a different night light in there. I think she really just likes it so that she can see better to play and read! LO2 doesn't sleep with a night light, since she doesn't know any different yet.

Yes although now that I think about it, I don't now why. They both sttn and I'm never in there. I guess to light my way out after I put them down?

Nope. I've done a little bit of research and there are some health benefits to sleeping in total darkness so I have them sleep without a light. They are probably not super significant benefits but whatever! Haha

@coopsmama: I never slept with a night light and I still can't sleep with even the slightest bit of light. Like I mentioned, I think she just likes it because she can see a little bit to read.

Totally not my intention at all! I just was sharing why I had never gotten started with one for my two is all.

I'm considering getting one, but LO screams so violently when she wakes up at night--maybe a night light would help her be a little more calm when she wakes up (if she can see?). We have blackout curtains in her room, so her room it pitch dark.

My lo does. She's actually pretty scared of the dark lately and I have no idea where it comes from. It's sad

LO has had a night light since we moved her into her own room at 7 months - it was more for my benefit that I could go in and nurse her without turning any other lights on. It became habit to turn it on before she gets into bed, and I think she appreciates it if she wakes up during the night at all.

Yes she does. She would scream when going down at night until we put a light in her room. No issues after that.
