DD1's room faces the backyard but DD2's room will face the street. Not too worried since we live on a very quiet residential street. Minus the a-hole next door.

Both face the front. We've got an ahole next door too.

Back of the house but has a window on the side. Luckily the neighbors just moved out and I hope quieter ones move in.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: @Mae: hahahaah DH swears the guy is a crimminal. He has a idiot son that thinks this is some college housing street. In and out at all hours; slamming car doors, cursing and speaking loudly. Next time he does it and DH is awake I swear he's going out and giving the kid a piece of his mind...

The street, and I don't love that. We debated whether to switch our room (facing the backyard) with the nursery, but decided it was going to be a hassle...and the way the closets are set up really wouldn't work for us if we did that. We live on one of the busier streets in our neighborhood, but our neighborhood is kind of off the beaten path so it isn't really that busy, especially at night.

@locavore_mama: our neighborhod is like Pleasantville. So quiet and friendly. There's the dbag across from us, whose colleged aged son is, I swear, a drug dealer. There's some serious shady business going on over there & I'm not impressed when I can smell weed from across the street.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: ah. speak of the devil. He just came home, slammed his door and I can hear him talking and cursing at someone.
Yes, our street is extremely quiet. It's in a winding road with no cut through so people never use it for traffic. It's honestly quite confusing for people coming to visit us! hahah 90% young families.
Another neighbor told us SWAT showed up at his door once! DH initially thought witness protection because the dad is SO quiet and never looks at us even when it's obvious we're all outside and we try to make polite conversation. So weird. Andd he constantly has people come over who pull out heavy duty cases out of their cars and then takes it into his garage. So weird.

Our Nursery will be facing the backyard. This is just the way it works in our home though. Our street isn't busy and we have nice neighbours so it wouldn't have bothered me if it was facing the street.

Her room is on the 2nd floor and the window is on the side of the house, so you can see a little bit of the backyard and a little bit of the neighborhood. I think her room has the best view in the house!

@locavore_mama: same! I've called the non-emergency line on him before. His friend (who lives down the street) will drive over in his pickup & sit parked in front of the house for hours. Sometimes they'll put their music on, and their bass is SO loud. As an infant, it would wake Chloe. Twice it was so loud that pictures fell off my walls. My windows rattle. I love loud music but damn, that kind of bass is so 1999.
He also has a dirt bike. Last summer he'd ride it in circles in front of his house. It had a blown tailpipe so you can't only imagine how loud that is. Meanwhile there are woods and trails behind his house.

street. honestly, the backyard is louder. we share a yard because we're in a duplex. my ILs dog is SO. LOUD. ugh. and we live on a really busy road!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: haha! the grown man behind us smokes weed in his shed and its so strong I've smelled it IN our house with the windows shut. I think I was pregnant when I smelled it.

They both face the street. Master and Guest rooms face the backyard.
We have a pretty quiet, family friendly street, so it hasn't been a problem yet
::fingers crossed!::

Both. We are on a corner and the nursery has two windows one facing the street and one overlooking the backyard. Fortunately the street isn't too noisy - but our dogs barking in the backyard can be!

@sorrycharlie: I worry about Chloe! They're across the street and one house over so it really pisses me off when they're "so far away" and my effing windows rattle from his lame music bass. And I'm sorry, but I shouldn't be able to smell your ditch weed so far away, either.

Backyard. It's annoying when the people behind us leave their dog outside and he barks non-stop.

One window faces the backyard and one faces our neighbours driveway. Luckily they're old and sweet, and unless their doing house renovations or landscaping, they are super quiet.

Backyard. And there is no roof under it so it's a loooong drop if she ever decides she wants to try sneaking out. Muah ha ha. Well planned.

Current townhouse - faces the courtyard
New house- will face the backyard

Wagon Jr.'s room faces the front (street) and has 3 windows, and is the coldest room in the house because of this! LMW's room faces the back (yard) and has 2 windows next to each other and is between our room and the guest room, so it stays pretty well insulated.

Street, and despite being a cul-de-sac, it is not quiet at all. Luckily she seems to have adapted, and sleeps through it all.

DS has windows to the street and side yard. DD has the side yard and the backyard

A faces the side of our house which is the driveway and then the neighbors house, E faces the street.

D's room faces the back, but it's on the side next to our ahole neighbors (EVERY time she's on the phone she has to go out on the porch and yell and curse; they have fought loudly enough that we've considered calling the cops; and we're 100% sure he's a drug dealer). And the people behind us have parties almost every weekend during the summer. So we can never ever leave D's windows open. Sucks. Can't wait to move.

Front. We live on a pretty quiet street, but we have a neighbor with college age kids and sometimes they come in late or play loud music in their cars. It would wake me up but doesn't bother LO at all!

I believe one window faces the street and one our side yard. Our neighbors on that side are very loud, esp in the summer... They hang out in their backyard, drink & laugh & yell ALL NIGHT LONG

LO room faces the side of the house which we have a fenced in area but you can still see the road
