I don't know if it counts but my dog barfs 2-3 times a week. The vet can't find anything wrong and says he looks perfectly healthy!

Haha tons.
When she was younger she had demodex mange which is hereditary and non contagious. Then we found that she has allergies. We did a skin test and found out she's pretty much allergic to the earth. You know, dust, pollen, mold spores found in grass, etc
Last summer she had a seizure which just about scared the crap out of us. Thankfully none since.
Andddd we just had a lump removed on her hind leg that was cancerous. Thankfully they got it all but we have to keep a close eye to make sure no more lumps form.
She's a problem child! But we love her.

I thought my cat had pica because as a kitten I found him eating out of his litter box. I took him to the vet and they said he was fine. Turns out he just loves carbs, like his mama, and I was using wheat litter! If we buy new cheap clothing from like old navy that has that starch stuff on it, he'll eat holes in it if we don't wash it! He also likes to eat crackers or even lick up flour if I spill cooking! We don't use wheat litter anymore

One of my Japanese Chins, Gavin, has a luxating patella; his kneecap slips out of place randomly about once a day and he starts limping, then it slips back in again. It doesn't seem to bother him much but he may need surgery in the future if it gets worse.

@mrs. bird: Oh so if cats eat crackers they might have pica? My cats eat everything but they eat a lot of crackers, cheetos, bread. They also love peaches, green beans and lettuce.

@anonysquire: no, I thought he did because cats hate poo & he was eating out of his litter box, but it turned out he was just eating the litter not the poo : )

My dog used to have IBS (inflammatory bowl syndrome) when we first adopted her. Now that we put her on a special diet, she is good to go. We try not to give her human food.

No not really....but she's super dumb and eats human food (she loves it and can't restrain herself) but then she gets terrible diarrhea! You would think she would learn....

Our doggie has allergies. They were worse when he was a puppy and we did the whole specialist and shots thing but in our opinion they didn't work and he ended up mostly growing out of the worst of it. We just don't take him out in early fall or early spring and no hikes where there is a lot of brush/foliage.

@Ali: My dog has that in both hind legs. We operated on one last summer and the this summer she tore her ACL so we have operated again for that... Poor thing
Thank goodness for pet insurance!

@autumnlove: our dog throws up a lot if he doesn't eat his breakfast. Something about having an empty tummy and having all that vile in there.
Ive always heard mutts are supposed to be healthy but ours is a mess. He has a sensitive tummy, allergies, and many psychological issues. He also had cancer as a puppy but had surgery and he's all better now.

@regberadaisy: Your dog sounds just like ours. Demodex mange (she was a rescue), then skin issues, allergies, etc. One time we had to take her in because she was having severe issues breathing. It looked like she was bitten by something and had an allergic reaction to it.
Pets are expensive people!!

Our pup has a grade 4 heart murmur and we adopted her with a torn and improperly healed ACL which we had to have a surgery to repair. She also has mild hip dysplasia and arthritis. Poor old girl.
@mrs. bird: That's so bizarre!
@Ali: Our dog had to have knee surgery, not fun Hopefully your guy can avoid it... but once they're healed the difference is amazing.

My dachshund has allergies. She can't eat red meats (only chicken/turkey and fish for her)- she gets all red and itchy and starts loosing her hair. She has seasonal allergies- same reactions as to the red meats. Rabies vaccine- anaphylaxis (hives, vomiting, swelling, trouble breathing, etc). She also had a really thin coat of fur (with some bare patches) due to strange skin conditions/itching due to allergies.

Aw, our dog throws up all the time too! They say she's fine, she just has a lot of stomach acid. Sometimes Pepcid helps, sometimes not. Otherwise they're both perfectly healthy!
