Yeah we say "dude" but not directly at each other. We'll say something like "dooooooood...did you see what that girl was wearing?".

We call eachother dude sometimes, but its just another nickname in the multitude of nicknames we have for eachother.

No and I HATE it when people (anyone!) call me dude. A bunch of my coworkers call me dude and it irks me but I know that it's not a big deal so I just let it go.

I call my kids dude. My husband thinks it's weird! But I've got to instill some Californian-ness into their little Mexican selves! I may have called my husband dude a few times but we usually speak Spanish....

@Rubies: I'm with you! For inexplicable reasons, this word bugs me. I guess we all have words we don't like for whatever reason, and this is definitely one of them for me. Although I am a born and bred east coaster--maybe if I was a California girl it would seem normal!

We both call each other 'babe' exclusively (so gross, i know, its a habit leftover from college) but occasionally (read: if I'm angry) I will switch to 'dude'. The effect is pretty noticeable, haha!
