Hmmm...wonder where this came from? lol

My DH is very good about seeing what I do, but I am curious to see how that changes now that I am on leave and he is working. We've had a few times in the past where I'll be off-work for a few weeks and just home, but during those times he makes sure to notice what I've done and express appreciation.

To a degree, I think DH understands what I do - but I don't think he always appreciates all of it. He works LONG hours during the week, so he doesn't see much of the stuff going on, but realizes that I have our LO basically for 5 days in a row each week with no other support from family. So he tries to help on weekends a bit, but I wish it was more...

@Bao: yes! Probably too much if we're being honest lol he gets defensive and brings up the one or two things he's done recently, like helped with dinner one time last week..which he honestly believes is enough and that he's doing his part. I can talk to him about it until I'm blue in the face but after living together a little over a year, I don't seem to be getting through to him. that is the only thing I cant stand about him and it's turning out to bother me a lot more than I imagined it could!

I consider the household to be my responsibility, in general. I do about 75% of the work, my husband does 15%, and the rest just goes undone, lol. My husband is really aware of it, and has a lot of appreciation.

Um no. Obviously he needs to have a little chat with some of the hive husbands!

This thread reminds me that I need to be more vocal of everything my DH is doing right now. I'm *still* sick with the extreme nausea, so I honestly can't remember the last time I cooked, cleaned, or took out the trash at home.

So DH has been doing all of that for himself/us. He's had to do my laundry a few times, too, when I was too sick to do it myself and had no clean clothes. And I know I'm so wrapped up in how awful I feel that I haven't told him enough how much I appreciate him.

Typically, we split the house duties 50/50. We both work full time. I'm not too worried about after our LO comes out. From what I can see, he's extremely hands-on with our neices and nephews, so I think he'll pull his weight without me even asking. Like...he'd give the kiddo a bath while I do the dishes, or vice-versa.

Yes, he is super appreciative and makes sure to tell me all the time. He is so happy with me as a wife/mom, which makes me feel really good!

DH and I just got into a tiff this morning about this exact topic. While he helps out around the house I do not feel that he appreciates all I do. I work full time, do all the cooking, majority of the kiddo care, all the laundry, almost all of the shopping and often find it 9PM before I can even sit down at night; we split the household chores but even those are not an even split with me picking up more than him. The discussion is still ongoing but he at least acknowledged that he doesn't do enough to let me know I'm appreciated.
