We are usually together on DH's days off so he doesn't have much experience the girls as a solo parent. They aren't in daycare today so he has his hands full....I hear a lot of crying and whining right now!

Awww it will get better for him!
DH only has time with the girls on the weekends. But he can handle them both while I catch up on fun things like laundry and cleaning!

Hmm not really unfortunately. LO is almost 14 months and he's been with her by himself once (about 2 hours). He does spend some good time with her when he gets home from work etc though, but I'm always there.

We just talked about this yesterday. There are hours-long spurts on weekends but that's about it. He told me to just go out and enjoy myself a bit on Sat and he and M can have some solo bonding time. I said, fine with me!

He does. He usually gets weekend mornings and sometimes when I have to work late. He's also been taking her out on just her and him outings--last week they went to a family function.

Aww sad.
Dh takes dd out a lot and he does well when I leave him with both. Now that DS is boob weaned, dh can handle all feedings and sleep time too! Yes! I see a momcation soon!

Yes sometimes I go out on the weekend for a girls morning and DH hangs out with LO by himself. I don't think he's ever been by himself with her outside the house though.

DH has LO all day Monday and Tuesday and all morning/early afternoon Thursday - Friday.

This Friday it will be away from DS for the first time overnight and he's staying with DH. They don't spend a ton of time alone because I only work part time but I do make a point of doing something by myself on the weekends and leaving DS with DH. I'm 100% confident that he'll do just fine but I know I'm going to miss him to pieces.

I work every third weekend (12 hour shifts each day so I don't see M from friday night to monday morning). I think it helps both of us that DH knows exactly what it's like to care for her solo for a full weekend.

@chopsuey: We need to have a ladies out soon!
DH usually has a couple hours with her on the weekends. Whether I am running errands or my turn to sleep in. He will be solo Friday picking her up from day care till Sunday afternoon. I think it going to make him appreciate all I do during the week solo parenting even more.

Yes, he is solo with DS until 5:30 1-4 days a week. On the other days, he has DS alone until 1 PM. He does a great job!

Not a lot right now because M nurses so often and is on a bottle strike so they can't be away from me for too long, but my DH is a professor so he teaches two days/week, has summers off, winter break, etc. He's going to be a part-time SAHD once I go back to work so they'll get a lot of alone time together. I am happy about that but a little sad that's she is most certainly going to be a daddy's girl!

Yup, I got a job evenings and weekends so I can collect enough hours to get another year of mat leave for this pregnancy/baby. I work 25 hours a week - 3 evenings per week and every other weekend both days. DH takes care of our 18 month old when I'm working. He's always been really hands on though.
