My SO doesn't watch much sports... although I think that some day, we'd both love to watch live sporting events in the New York area. It costs too much to get good seats though!

Does your SO watch sports?

Yes. When we were dating I swear it was just football and baseball, but since we've been married he has to watch any sport if it's a special game. At least he doesn't follow every sport thoughout the whole season though.
I love college football, but I only care about the game if it's my college team or my hubby's. We're rivals, so I actually route for his team to lose. House divided!

Not on TV but we like going to Yankee games and US Open matches together.

He only watches the world cup! woohoo! Lucky for me since I'm not a sports fan.

Sometimes. He will catch a Steelers game if he remembers and a UFC fight occasionally if he likes the card. Husker Football in this state is King and I don't know anyone that doesn't watch the game. Now if boxing is on, get away from MY remote, I hate to miss a good fight.

My DH loves soccer, Manchester United is his team! But besides that he will just watch sometimes. I am really into college football (BIG 10 & Sparty love!!!) since I graduated from a Big 10 school and basketball as well, so we watch those together most games. We both enjoy going to games, although we do not get to often.

DH worked for professional baseball until 2 months ago, so I have been to hundreds of games. We LOVE watching hockey though, and have season tickets.

I'm HUGE into football, and DH will watch with me, but he isn't into it as much as me!

We watch spots together, mostly NFL and college basketball. I'm a huge fan, but prefer to only watch games my team is playing in. DH watches just about every game. We have season tickets for our local NFL team which is a ton of fun!

YES! he actually works for a sports radio station, so our life is pretty consumed by it. but i wouldn't have it any other way! it's something we have in common, and never get sick of talking about

He sure does. He watches football, baseball, and basketball. I don't mind though because I love to watch them with him. We love to go to games too.
honeydew / 7968 posts
he doesn't watch much because i don't watch any. but if it's a major game, he'll go check on the game every so often.

I have actually gotten my DH into baseball! He watches some other sports but isn't fanatical.

I work for a sports network so I am surrounded by it all day good thing my husband doesn't watch it too often since he has no time now that we have kids

He loves watching all sports and is constantly checking scores!
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
My husband is into Formula One, skiing and tennis. I have no problem with those sports and him watching them on occasion. There's not a big scores thing with those, thank goodness.

He doesn't watch as much as I do, honestly. He would prefer to be playing a video game than watching football. We do enjoy watching the NFL at home, though. He will tell you he's just not that passionate about sports. I would love to go to another NFL game someday but the closest NFL team is 3 hours away and they're not even all that great. We like watching baseball in person but we only have minor league nearby.

We both love watching football and will rarely miss an NFL game for our respective teams. He also follows baseball but doesn't watch it nearly as much.

Ummm I think the real question for me is, does you husband watch anything other than sports? The answer to that would be.....no!
honeydew / 7230 posts
Yes - he's a big sports fan. I grew up in a big sports family as well (watching, not playing because none of us were athletically inclined!) so I don't mind it. We go to a lot of baseball games (the Cardinals) and a lot of college football (Univ. of Illinois) and I like being there in person. I'm not big about watching sports on TV so I'll just read or look at the internet while my husband watches games at home.

Yes! We are a mets/giants/rangers/tennis household. My husband regularly watches on TV when he can, and we love going to sporting events in person (all except for football games - we don't go to those for some reason). We regularly attend mets games, we have a package for Rangers tickets, and we go to the US Open and have a box at the ATP in Cincinnati every year! We also host an annual super bowl party. Sports is something nice that we can enjoy together, with family and with friends.

SO is an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and watches every single game in its entirety.
He's also a "fair-weather" fan of any Dallas sports team that is doing well. So if the Texas Rangers are in the Wold Series (which they have been for the last 2 years) he'll want to watch all of those post-season games as well.

haha "does your SO watch sports?" YES! Being from LA, DH is a HUGE Laker/basketball fan. Since they had the lockout, he's been watching a lot of football. Thank goodness for the lockout to be over so we can start watching together =)
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
We both do and primarily watch them together! Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins. My husband also loves OU football and professional soccer (though frankly I'm not a huge fan).

@mrbee: I watch and know too much about the NFL. DH is a fantasy football addict and half the year is dedicated to it in some form or other. We even have Directv because of their NFL ticket package! UGH! I don't complain too often though because he's not a huge gaming addict which would drive me bonkers!
We both enjoy attending the local sporting events: Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons, & Lions! GOOOO DETROITTTTT SPORTS!

"DH is a fantasy football addict and half the year is dedicated to it in some form or other."
@mrsjyw: Haha do you guys watch The League then?
coconut / 8854 posts
I wanted to add in, since DH loves all sports, I also do too. Hence "Mrs. Brewer" Brewer and Packer fans over here!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@mrbee: YES. We are THAT couple. I am his FF counselor and give important advice about trades and other such drama (especially in the one league where he is the commish!)
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@mrsjyw: Wow haha, that's awesome!
Did you know the wife is married to the single guy on the show? I was stunned when I discovered that!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@mrbee: REALLY!? No way, I love her character. And the show in its entirety. We actually JUST got into it after hearing about it from other couples on our 1 year anniversary trip. All the wives were complaining, while the men were making dates to go see the MNF game that week... oh the things we sacrifice for fantasy football... he won his first playoff week yesterday - so this week will be a happy one!

@mrsjyw: There are some great behind-the-scenes clips here, in the Clips section!

Wow congrats on making the playoffs!
