My LO tolerates sunglasses, but she LOVES hats! I bought a super cute "fancy" sunhat at Janie & Jack, which she is obsessed with. She wears it almost every day around the house and throws a fit if I take it off her head. She's a nut!

My little niece is the only toddler I've ever encountered who willingly wears hats and sunglasses. She actually asks for them before she goes outside to play. My SIL thinks her eyes are super sensitive to the sun though because she cried frequently when in the sun as a baby. Now that she's talking she says her eyes "hurt" when she's out without her hat and sunglasses.

Toddlers I've nannied for and my friends' kids never tolerate hats or sunglasses for more than a couple of minutes.

@autumnlove: My SIL thinks so too. Except lately my darling niece has been in a naked phase. She now plays outside stark nekkid in only her hat and sunglasses. Thankfully, they have a large, private backyard.

My little guy loves his sunglasses and asks for them the second their is a ray of sunshine. As for hats, he will sometimes keep it on and sometimes want to take it off.
