DH swears that one time he went to buy condoms the cashier had to do a price check. He was mortified and refused to buy them ever again. I told him he should be boasting that he's getting laid (and smart enough to wear a condom), and not worry about it.
But for as long as we have been dating/engaged/married I've been the one that has to buy condoms.

Dh ALWAYS bought them. He felt like it was his responsibility--he never would have put that on me to purchase them/make sure we had them. But we haven't used them in aaaages (since I went on the pill while we were dating). Ha I agree with you though, that your Dh should have felt proud that he's gettin' some!

I was on the pill for 8 years and kept my prescription filled, paid for it, etc. He can buy the stupid condoms until we TTC now. 
In all honesty, I've never once purchased condoms. I think, once, I was in the store with him when he bought them. We haven't used them much at all though (see above, pill for 8 years, and now half the time we do POM/FAM)

We are going to sound like total trashballs, but we only used condoms once or twice early in the beginning, over 4 years ago... I was on the pill and we had both gotten "checked out" around the time we started dating so we went with that? We hate them. It doesn't feel as good- sorry Tmi!!!

I've pretty much been on the pill forever, so rarely used condoms. But I do have a funny story....
We have a Costco membership, so DH's best friend who I will call "X", asked if they could go together so that X could pick "something" up. Turns out that X needed condoms (he had just started dating a new girl). So X picked up 3 BIG BOXES, since obviously Costco only sells bulk.
And then when it was time to check out, DH is the one who has to pay since it was his membership card... and X walked away from the checkout and left my husband sheepishly holding 3 giant boxes of condems!! The lady at the counter winked at DH, and the person who marked the receipts at the exit asked if he could go where they were going. HAHAHA

DH bought some when we first got married, but we didn't how they felt either. Haven't bought any since!
He ditched the almost brand new pack at the gym. Haha. Hopefully someone picked them up and used them responsibly!

He had a stash when we first started dating (gross! they were definitely for a variety of ladies) and then once we were monogamous/exclusive we ditched them. I think we've both probably picked up a pack or two here and there for when I was on antibiotics and my BC was ineffective or we were doing something "wild" (which I will spare you the details of unless you really care to know).

I don't see how not using condoms=trashy? I mean, most people seem to go on the pill in monogamous relationships (at least, of people I know that talk about it).

Hubby and I grocery shop together so we just toss them in out shopping basket. He always tries to hide them though. He has bought them on his own before though.

I agree that I hate condoms. I'm happy to be starting back on BC pills so we can stop using them. We've been using them since we had DS until I went back on the pill. And clearly we didn't use them well enough since I've had 3 pregnancy worries in the last few months.

Totally hilarious - he went to Walmart for me the other day and bought home two tubes of lube with all his other purchases. I was on the phone when he got home and he pointed at the lube bottles. He then pointed at the baby and then motioned his hand between the two of us. He meant, one for the baby (for the thermometer) and one for us. Hehe.

@jholler25: If that makes you a trashball, I'm a trashcan. DH and I have never used them. He was the first and only guy I ever let in without one. Looking back it was stupid because we were together REALLY early into our relationship but whatever it worked out ok.

Neither of us were embarrassed about buying them. So if we needed some either of us would pick them up. We used condoms as our form of birth control for years because the pill never agreed with my system. I hated using them. We would go at it for a little while before he would pull out and put one on. That way we didn't have to use them the entire time. Looking back, we wasted money on buying them. We can't get pregnant on our own so there was no point.

When we used to use them, he was the one who bought them. He was very responsible about it! I am pretty sure he got used to buy them when he used to stock up during his "bachelor days...." lol

We only used them a few times this past year on a cycle where I was adjusting medications and we had to be SURE not to get pregnant. We hate them! He bought them though. I hate buying things like that!

I can honestly say that I have never bought any, he always had. If he wanted action, he had better of been stocked up, or he wasn't getting any. Of course we only used them for a few months before I got the pill.

@jholler25: hahaha! Us too... it wasn't until after we had our baby that we started using condoms. We had used it once "for fun", but I had always been on BCP, so we never had a need to. And yes - it just doesn't feel the same!! I hate it, but it's the only option we have now

Neither one of us was ever embarrassed about buying condoms or today sponges so it was just whoever was at the store would get them. In the early days of our relationship, we both maintained our own supplies at our respective residences. My husband also doesn't mind picking up things like maxi pads and tampons for me either.

When Hubs and I started dating, we were in college. I used to just take condoms from our Health Services (they were free!), but we hated using them, so I went on the pill pretty quickly.

@sweetchic: They're great- they're colorful, they're squishy, they're waterproof (who needs bath toys when you have condom packets?), and you can grab a big fistful at one time.
