I think it really depends on lifestyle, but from what you've written, a double might be a good idea. My two LOs are 3 years apart and we decided against the double and bought the skateboard attachment instead (we also have a Bugaboo). It has worked out really well for us, but I think if they had been just 2 years apart, I would have gone for the double. We live in a major city with no car, so the stroller is my car. I'm also not that keen on babywearing, so I definitely wanted a functional stroller.

I don't think my lo would have been ready for the skateboard attachment at 26 months. He is now almost 3 and he would probably like it but he still really loves sitting in the stroller. Maybe you could avoid a double if you think you can put the baby in the carrier at first. Would that hurt your shoulders too?

I have a 17 month old and we are going to ttc #2 next month, so at a minimum, DD will be 27 months. She isn't a huge stroller fan, so I was thinking of skipping the double since I work anyways so we don't use it tons anyways. But, I think I will still get one because it will be simpler if I need to contain both (DD1 is a runner!!) I think ultimately we will wait until after #2 is a few months old to decide though.

My kids are 26 months apart and when I was pregnant with #2, we decided on to buy a new double stroller because my older daughter still did well and would sit in the stroller. Now, at almost 4, she will still sit in it if we need her to when we're out and about.

I love my double. My kids are 17 months apart and for about the first year and still on occasion I use the ergo for my younger and frame for my older. When I need to go somewhere I need both of them strapped in my double is great. It is also great for walks as we live in a suburban area. So glad I got it!

We will have the exact same age gap as you (also due in March!) and I am definitely getting a double. I'd love to avoid shelling out for it, but we walk a lot and are just about to move to a really hilly area, and also as others have mentioned I would like to be able to contain LO1 when needed! I am also looking at the city select, but have heard it is quite heavy to push and steer?

@Nutella: We saw it at BuyBuyBaby when we went stroller shopping for the 1st time around. I love that it's the same frame regardless if it's a single or a double so it's not any longer or wider.

I love how it maneuvers. It is a bit bulky and heavy, but unless the space is really small, it squeezes by just fine.

We just use the car seat attachment and strap the car seat into one of the pegs near the top. DS will sit in the front seat.

I tried to do the UBV and rumble seat with my two (23 months apart).my oldest cannot stay awake in a stroller if she's in it anywhere near nap time. The rumble seat sucked for naps.
I tried baby wearing the baby while the oldest sat in the seat, but then if I had to wrangle her at all I'd be worried about her hurting the baby.
We got a side by side three months in. Love it!
There's no way my 2.5 year old could manage the ride on board without jumping in front of traffic.
I'm hopeful when #3 comes next year that she'll be mature enough to walk most of the time or at least stay on the board if I need her to.
