Wow. 2 years was my hoped for spacing. I'm very disappointed to not even be pregnant as my daughter approaches 2. It seems ideal for me, can't imagine why people have such an issue with it. Also with minding their business.

people need to mind their own beesknees. wow.

ours are going to be a little less than 18 months apart, and while I've only told family so far they have been very excited and supportive of us.

i'm preparing myself for the usual "boy, mormons have a lot of kids", and "wow, you guys move fast" jokes when we make it public, but to actually ask if it was planned?? holy rude, batman!

@runsyellowlites: yeah i am dreading. people are going to comment about how much we are going to have to pay in daycare, how i just started a new job, how my husband lives/works out of town and how hard it is on me with just one, etc. etc.

i do have a friend whose kids are 13 months apart and i was telling her the other day how i was dreading what people were going to say. she said you know what, screw them! and she is right.

my LO's are going to be 15 months apart, and majority of my family didn't have negative comments, as it's normal in my family for siblings to be (super) close in age(my brother is 12 months younger than me, my youngest brother is 17 months younger than him. my cousins are 15 months apart, etc...).

we got more 'are you crazy!?' 'was it planned?!' 'what were you guys thinking?' 'better you than me!' 'oh, let one slip past the goalie I see(yes! DH got this comment)!?' comments from DH's family, our friends and coworkers.

I always just responded with 'this is how our family was meant to be!' or that 'our little girl had plans that were different than ours' :o) after a while the comments stop bothering you(well they did for me anyways haha)

I was hoping to be pregnant around my daughter's 1st birthday. 2 years between babies is pretty common in my circle!

When I hear about kids who will be under 18 months apart, the only thing I might think/say that could be construed as negative is something the lines of asking if a mom or sister will come out to stay with them when baby #2 arrives (because I'd imagine they'll need a lot of help!) People are just too nosy sometimes with their "Was this planned" questions!

Sorry you're getting bad reactions. Our little girls will be 2 and a half years apart and we got some weird/non reactions mainly from our childless friends. Two friends literally didn't say anything and changed the subject, it was odd, I just figure that's their issue of something they're going through not mine so I didn't address it with them. Luckily our families are excited.

@runsyellowlites: I'm sorry. I thought that would ideal spacing. People always have rude things to say to pregnant ladies--even if they don't mean it do be it somehow comes out rude.
