We still need to finish the last 3 episodes of season 2 but Im psyched for the new season. Is that Christmas special thing necessary for the story line? Also I tried to set my DVR to record it and it wouldn't fine the regular Downton Abbey, only "revisited". We have only watched the DVDs so I need to figure out how to record it now!

Whoot! I got the 3rd season for Christmas, but it doesn't get released until 1/28.
My IL's are in town, and I am commandeering the TV- I don't even care if there is a bowl game everyone else wants to watch, I gots to get me some Downton!

@babyjmama: dh watched with me (he's never seen it) and he couldn't believe how short the wedding scene was! As always, I loved Maggie Smith, and I felt bad for Edith. And, still hate Thomas.

@bpcmarj: Oh I HATE Thomas. DH doesn't watch with me but he walked through during a scene with Thomas and said "Well he looks like a douche" HA!
I totally agree, LOVE Maggie Smith. I'm very happy that Edith did get things worked out at least a little bit by the end -

@bpcmarj: I saw an interview w/him and a few other cast members on Anderson Cooper and he looked SO different without his hair slicked back. Much less douchey.

I just watched it on the PBS website bc we don't have TV. I thought the second season was way too melodramatic and soap-y, but the season 3 premiere was as good as I remember.
