Intermittent sharp pain down along the very bottom of my stomach, along the top of my pubic bone. It doesn't hurt to pee, I'm not constantly feeling the urge to go, but it feels like that sharp pain you get with a UTI. UTI or Cricket's head pressing and rubbing and maybe pinching tissue against my pubic bone? 35 weeks. I always lean forward when I pee and try to lift the head off my bladder so it can empty out completely, but this pain has me paranoid.

Yikes. UTIs start off with my bladder feeling full and kind of heavy, then there's the urgency to pee, then the pain.
I would get things checked out just to be on the safe side. once I start feeling paranoid about UTIs, it's all I can think about.

@Happygal: I've only ever had one UTI in my life and it wasn't while I was pregnant, so I'm not well-versed on them. But I live in the middle of nowhere and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to pack the kids up and head into town, or if I should just start taking preemptive measures and see what happens by my doctor's appointment on Monday.

It's impossible to say, because i've felt like i've had a UTI a few times throughout pregnancy, and each time i got checked and it was just baby. Baby is definitely causing me to have some symptoms of UTI, but i haven't had the tell tale burning when peeing that solidifies that that's what it is. So my guess is it's just baby, BUT I would have your doc check just to be sure! are you having weekly appointments yet?

@Pirouette: Well, my appointments are kind of confusing and mixed up and discombobulated due to planning a home birth with a midwife and getting some care from a doctor at the same time, but yeah, sorta.

@FarmWifeGina: and I've never been pregnant, so I can't compare! I can also tell when I'm getting a UTI b/c if I press on my bladder, it's a bit tender. You'll know soon enough if it's UTI b/c they progress so quickly. Fingers crossed for you that it's not!

I used to get UTIs and bladder infections quite a lot a few years ago, it happened when I wasn't emptying my bladder properly.
They are all accompanied by burning while urinating, I never felt pains elsewhere, honestly. And cloudy urine, no matter how much water I drank.

@FarmWifeGina: yea i didn't see you had an appt on Monday until after I posted. i would say you can wait till monday and just drink lots of water over the weekend and rest. if you do experience any pain while urinating, try some cranberry juice or pills. Hopefully it's just baby prepping to make its way outta there

@Pirouette: It DOES remind me, as well, of the sharp, burning, scraping pain that happened when DD's head engaged during my last labor.

@Pirouette: It was only a few seconds in the middle if a contraction that made me straighten up because it suddenly got more intense right in the middle and then I was like, ok, yeah, we're headed into active labor, let's start packing our bag, lol.

My daughter would often head butt my cervix and/or lay on a nerve that would cause pain like that. Like a sharp shooting pain. Happened quite a bit in the latter weeks. That's what this sounds like to me, but UTIs can get nasty quick, especially during pregnancy so ot might be a good idea to get checked out just in case.

Thanks everyone! I'm pretty much thinking it's just baby at this point. I think s/he's moved its head and the sensation is basically gone. That, coupled with no bladder tenderness or burning urination or anything of that, and I'm pretty convinced I'm just paranoid. Oh, these babies!
