@ladyfingers: if you think you will want to get an iphone someday, I'd say get an iphone. Actually, my suggestion is to wait until the phone you want comes out.

If you have apps on Android or Apple, you can't transfer them between the two. So, anything you pay for with one company, you would have to pay for again on your new one. If you go with Android (I use them as example because it's what I know) you set up an account and that account follows you from Android phone to Android phone. So anything you paid for, you don't have to pay for again.

I have never owned an Apple product. I'm an Android user and love it so much. I have the Samsung Galaxy S2. Best phone ever.

@ladyfingers: if you're a heavy gmail, gchar, YouTube user, android makes life easier.

@chopsuey119: Yeah, that's what I've heard, too... I like the sound of the Google Maps GPS functionality, too.

My husband and I got Androids (HTC droid) about 3 years ago. Going from a reg phone to a smart phone was great over time we started having more and more problems everytime they released new software updates.

In October we both got new phones I got the iphone 4s and hubs got another android samsung i think but its powered by bing not google.

It took a few weeks for me to get everything set up on the phone the way i wanted it the hardest was going from google calendar to ical. but i have access to everything my android had. I love it! even my 2010 Kia Soul loves it as it syncs right up and i can hands free use siri. as for battery i charge it every night but its usually only 1/2 way when i plug it in.

hubs phone has had to be replaced twice. His battery is always dead, and it randomly turns itself off. Most phone calls i can't understand a word he's saying. He won't admit it (because he's so anti Mac) but he prefers to use my phone over his own esp for using apps and looking stuff up. Def go with a "google" phone over a "bing" phone
