any recommendations for a drugstore foundation?
i have some dry patches on my skin that can look worse with some thick foundations, but i need some coverage that's more than what a tinted moisturizers offers.

@mrs. bird: I love love love Yes to Carrots tinted moisturizer! I love all of their products but really love this one, use it daily. Available at Target and on Amazon.

Revlon color stay. Hands down.
I use it in place of my MAC Prolong wear so I can extend the life of my MAC a bit longer. No one notices the difference, not even me. I only use my Mac now when I'm going in a special occasion.
As far as the dry skin, mine is too but I wear my thick moisturizer before putting the foundation on and it actually glides the foundation on better that way. I use a kabuki brush and then go out it with my beauty blender and really get it in the crevasses.

@CupQuakeWalk: which one? they have a couple, there's one for normal/dry skin, one for combination/oily, and then a whipped one. i have the whipped one and it's too thick for me, it sticks to my dry patches and makes it looks worse, right now i'm mixing that with tinted moisturizer

I've used Covergirl oil-free Clean makeup for as long as I can remember. Its a liquid (goes on awesome with a brush/sponge), and doesn't get into all the patchy rough spots (I have them on my forehead/cheeks). With a bit of translucent powder over top, its been pretty reliable for me. $7.99 at Walmart/Shoppers.

I really like Neutrogena Healthy Skin (I've heard it's similar to NARS sheer glow foundation), it has a nice/natural finish and good coverage.

I love, love Neutrogena Healthy Skin Glow Sheers. It's got SPF, light on the skin, and still with nice coverage. It's essentially a tinted moisturizer, but I love it.

Physician's Formula BB Cream is what I use now. It's the only thing that moisturizes enough and doesn't break me out. And it has really good coverage! It also gets a good ewg.org score.

@lilyann: Ahh, I wear the glow sheers. I've never really liked heavy foundations. When I found this, I was immediately hooked. Neutrogena products are awesome in general because they're hypoallergenic.

I use the normal skin liquid one. I love it! You can always return it;) I've never seen the whipped one but I hate whipped foundations anyway.

Revlon ColorStay or LOreal True Match Lumi. I use them depending on the look I want. The Revlon is more matte vs the LOreal being more dewy.

@CupQuakeWalk: I second Revlon ColorStay. When I do wear foundation, I wear this one. I get the combination/oily skin one, but I've gotten the normal, too.

@mrsjazz: I really think the oily skin formula is the same as the normal formula haha. Because one time I grabbed the wrong one and noticed NO difference for like 2 weeks (only when I saw the label on the bottle).

I don't like neutrogena. Their products make me break out! And I happened to find out that this happens to someone else (a guy! just the facewash his fiance bought) I know too.

I love the Revlon and Neutrogena ones mentioned! Hate those dry patches on cheeks Do you exfoliate often? I love the Target brand exfoliating wipes after every nighttime cleanse

@sandy: I actually bought about 3 and returned the ones that didn't work. I know Walgreens has a no fuss policy about cosmetics, so I stick with them for first-time make-up tries, so I can get my money back if need be.

Lumene Vitamin C BB cream. I love it! It's way more moisturizing than a full coverage foundation but it has better coverage than your average tinted moisturizer. Downside: there are only two shades. But get it from Ulta or any drugstore and you can always return it if it doesn't work for you

@CupQuakeWalk: i've never returned make up that i didn't like, but i think i might go buy a few mentioned here, give 'em all a try and them return the ones i don't like. i kind of feel bad about it, but i plan on being an awful witch for the next wk or so, i should do it now before i feel nice again
