I've been using Batiste and it just isn't cutting it any more. It's alright on day 2 hair, but I am on my 3rd day and it feels powdery and kind of filmy. Any suggestions of dry shampoo that gives a clean feeling without buildup?

I like Captain Blankenship MERMAID Dry Shampoo (powder formula) and DD (who has crazy-greasy hair) likes Hask Monoi Coconut Dry Shampoo (aerosol spray). Both leave hair feeling "non-caked" with product and generate a clean, full-bodied look.

I've been through so many different brands of dry shampoo and love the PHD one from Living Proof, I think the smell really fresh and way better than others.
And I have an anti-recommendation for you: I found a spray-dry shampoo by Garnier, on sale at the drug store and decided to try it since the price was good. It made my hair look worse, all sticky and greasy looking...

I also like dry bar but it’s a little heavy so may not be quite what you’re looking for. Tarte Hair Goals is one Ive used that’s effective but very light and not at all “product-y”.
Pretty much all drugstore ones I’ve tried were awful!

I like the IGK First Class dry shampoo because it's way less powdery but I do use Batiste sometimes as well, I recently read somewhere that if you turn on your hair dryer after your hair get's over-powdered with dry shampoo, the heat can help revive your hair and make it less powdery. Might be worth a try with the Batiste you already have.

I use Klorane because it is more natural and there is less fragrance. Dry Bar is sooooo scented 🙄 Not my thing.

Also wanted to add: my trick with dry shampoo is to use the night before first, then add in the morning as needed. I find I use a lot less this way and it looks/lasts better!

@Shantuck: Agree the hair dryer is key! If you don't get some heat on your hair it's not going to ever feel "fresh." I use dry shampoo the night before, then another spritz right on the front after I wash my face in the am. Then after makeup I brush my hair while pointing the dryer at it and then style.

Hmmmm following. I've tried several different kinds and I feel like they all make my hair feel so nasty and even worse than before I put the dry shampoo in. Like I need to wash it asap. I haven't tried the hair dryer trick though.

@crazydoglady: What Batiste were you using? I use Bare, but one time accidentally bought original and it did not work nearly as well for my hair.

@Ms. RV: I use the one for dark hair. I'll have to try the bare one!

@MrsADS: I’m with you. I’ve found one that makes my hair *look* ok, but none that don’t make it *feel* nasty.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I might have to try the blow dryer trick.
