So Thanksgiving weekend DS had a rash all over his legs, a bit on his torso, and on his face. It was pretty even on both legs, so the pediatrician was comfortable ruling out some kind of infection. The rash was red, hot to the touch, splotchy, and raised. It went away except on his face. It seemed to change a bit and for about 2 days the skin around his eyes was red (but his eyes were fine). It doesn't seem to itch or bother him really.
He had a fever on and off then about 9 days after the intitial symptoms had an ear infection diagnosed. He's been to the dr's twice now, plus I have talked to the dr and shown him pictures.

Sunday a rash like the one he initially had (red, raised, hot to the touch) came back on his legs and face.

I showed the picture to his doctor at my appointment (we have a family doctor) and he said it looks like hives. No fever this time, but some lingering cold symptoms.

I can't figure out what DS would have been exposed to that is both at my parents house 4 hours away and also at my in-laws' house that DS hasn't been exposed to before this. He hasn't had any new foods. We haven't changed detergents.

Did your LO ever get hives? Did you figure out what caused it, and if so how?
