DD hated swaddling so we just let her go without!

Some babies just don't like it. I say if he does fine without it, let him sleep how he likes.

And I agree with Wagon, swaddle weaning is awful!

Mine loved the swaddle, only because he was terrified by his arms As long as your LO is sleeping well without it, I wouldn't worry about it.

agree with Mrs. Wagon - swaddle weaning is a nightmare! I would have loved for DS to sleep without a swaddle! he was addicted for 6 months and we only weaned him out of necessity
We actually tried to avoid swaddling because I didn't want to deal with weaning but DS wouldn't sleep.

LO hated being swaddled from day 1. She hates anything that interferes with her arm movement; swaddling made her rage. It seems like there are a fair amount of babies who don't like it; I wouldnt force it if he's good the way he is.

She stopped liking the swaddle for a bit, but we muscled through and she was a swaddle addict until her 4 month sleep regression passed, then she was ready for a sleep sack and to tummy sleep. We didn't have to wean her, she was just ready.

If he doesn't wake himself up- why bother?
If you really do want DS swaddled, you could always do it after he's asleep:
My son hates the swaddle but he wakes himself up with wailing hands and kicking legs. So, I lay the swaddle (a&a) opened in his crib...then he falls asleep in my arms and I lay him (sleeping) into the center of the swaddle & I get him in a super tight swaddle. He sleeps hoooouuurs when swaddled as opposed to 45mins when not.

My LO can't make up her mind. So we are back and forth on the swaddle. Even when she's in there she prefers to get at least one arm free.

Let him be! M never liked the swaddle either but she is a great sleeper. She has never woken herself up by flailing her arms. Keep doing what you're doing!
