This is a verbatim question from my doctor's pre-physical questionnaire... it's an interesting question!
I only ever drink red wine, and the most I've ever had in the past year is a bottle of wine. So I guess that would be 4 drinks. It's not common for me though...
During the past year how many drinks of alcohol are the most that you have in a single day?

3.5 drinks on Saturday night on a "big night out". 2 glasses champagne and 1.5 glasses wine. I paid for it dearly on Sunday. Dearly.
I spent all of 2012 pregnant or nursing, until October. And then I was too darn tired to drink!

Ummmmmmm. Well. DH and I went to a fancy steak restaurant a few months ago (before I was pregnant) to celebrate a work thing. They were having a summer special where you pay for a wine tasting with dinner put together by their master sommelier - including *9* wines!!! Sparkling wine to start, 2 whites with an appetizer, 5 reds with dinner (!) and a dessert wine. And these weren't just a "taste" each glass was practically half full. I have a photo of me at a table with 6 glasses of wine 
I couldn't even get to the dessert wine so I'd venture to say I drank 5 glasses+ that night! I was sick for like 3 days after with some crazy reflux.

Wow, erm.... two bottles of wine, I think. Perhaps two bottles of wine and a gin and tonic. It wasn't unusual for me to sink a bottle of an evening (read: a week night) but two would have been a boozy night....

hmmm, probably 1/2-3/4 of a bottle of wine in the past year. Pre-baby though...haha, well....let's just say it would be a lot more than that.

Um.....in the past year? Geez. Probably a bottle's worth of wine. Maybe 5 glasses? But it was over the course of a few hours. I probably had 4-5 drinks at a wedding, too (also about 5 hours worth).

I'm a lush compared to most answers. Hmmm there was a day this summer where I drank 4-5 beers at the pool with friends, napped, then went out for hub's bday celebration and had 3-4 drinks.
If we open a bottle of wine, it gets drunk in one night, but typically I have 2-3 drinks at one time.

My first girls night out I had two big margarittas that did a number on me. For New Years I had a few mixed drinks but over the course of several hours.

@runnerd: Yeah I'm feeling like a lush too. I'm pretty sure I've had almost 2 bottles of wine in a day, or the equivalent. Not often, very rarely, and I paid for it the next day. That was actually shortly before I got pregnant (pre-O!).

probably 5 glasses of wine! almost guaranteed hangover the next day. i usually have 3-4 on average...these days, its more like 0.5 glasses.

The most in a single day: 2 glasses of Prosecco. But I've had 6 drinks total in 2012. Which is extremely weird because I likes my vino!

Wow! I feel like a lush compared to everyone else. Not sure exactly but I know on the 4th I had a couple mimosa's, probably 3 beers in the afternoon at the pool, and then 3 more that night. There probably was a day that I had more then that too.
Course I don't see that happening this year since we will have a little one to take care of.

oh geez. I feel like a lush too. Maybe 8? which is lower than it was when we weren't TTCing. But I'm talking all day, boating, tailgating-type drinking EVENTS. Not like that happened on a regular basis.

One glass of wine is my max, and I think this whole year I've had maybe three glasses total, since I was pregnant or nursing the whole time.

@dagret: HA I'm right there with you! When we don't have the LO we like to go all out, doesn't happen often though.
Since LO has been born in October, I"ve only had 1 "crazy" night which was a girls sleepover Christmas party at my house, we went through a lot of alcohol, I would say I probably had 7-8 drinks, after not drinking for over a year. I was hungover for 2 days and swore up and down I would never get drunk again. We went out for drinks with friends for a football game too, an all day thing, and I had probably 6 that day.

That doesn't happen often, but with his help 2 bottles is no biggie. I will pay dearly is I drink more than 2.5 glasses, and I'm not talking "little white wine glasses" I'm talking big pinot glasses!

I had about 1.5 glasses of wine and 1 japanese beer over the span of a week this past holiday. As a former NON drinker, this was a lot for me. But ever since stopping nursing, I have been trying to increase my alcohol consumption, just because I can now. Guess I'm feeling a little boring compared to some other ladies on here!

Um, well, I go to Mardi Gras in New Orleans every year as a mini-reunion with my best law school buddy. We stay with her husband's family in the Garden District and avoid the Quarter, but you still spend the entire day on the parade route with a cooler full of beer/other tasty things. So, probably 8 or so? With baby due on Saturday (and my friend due in a month!), we won't be able to go this year....
