@LCTBQE: That's awesome!
@crazydoglady: I vaguely knew someone who did this, working from home for a charter middle school that is entirely online instruction. Don't know the details behind it, whether it's accredited, etc, etc...

@LCTBQE: I want to hear more about your cleaning and organizing! Do you have a schedule?

Our Roomba is named after my little sister because she cleans anytime she's at my house without asking... So I figure it's worth her crashing dinner 1-2x a week 🤷♀️
Our son loves Roomba (and our Star wars Stormtrooper Samsung one), but occasionally turns it on them runs to the couch to get away. He used to be afraid of it, so when he turned it on he'd get on the couch and cry himself to sleep.

@periwinklebee: My husband was googling to see if there was a Roomba that shovelled snow this morning!

@Sams Mom: omg, your entire post is hilarious.
@gotkimchi: I love the cleaning and decluttering threads on HB, they're my guilty pleasure my secret is that I like doing it and it doesn't feel like a tedious chore to me to straighten up, and I love how it feels to have the house nice, so I do it constantly without really thinking about it. I try and just put things back in their homes instead of leaving them out, with the goal of mostly-clear surfaces. Very few things get to live on the counter. Like, our small toaster, which we use a few times a week, lives in a cabinet. It takes 3 seconds to put it away and then we don't live with an ugly thing that takes up space and leaves crumbs the 99.9% of the time it's not in use. Our toothbrushes live in the bathroom cabinet, we only have soap on the counter. I wipe the kitchen and bathroom counters down a lot, now I use my V7 a lot, and we have an awesome cleaning lady who comes and does a deep clean with her team twice a month. Before I had a cleaning lady (pre-kid) I used to do a deep clean myself every Friday. One thing I started doing recently is trying to do a lot of the de-cluttering while I'm watching the kids, which saves me from getting slammed with it all after baby bedtime. I just started making my 3-year-old pick up all his toys with me (I do most of it, but we try) before dinner. I fold laundry while I'm watching TV at night and then sneak into their rooms while they're sleeping to put it all away so we don't have laundry baskets out, and I try (not always like this by any means) to get the house in order before I go to bed so we don't wake up to insanity, and if we're super busy, I just make sure the kitchen is totally clean. I don't know, I think I was born in the wrong era and prob should have been a 50s housewife on speed. ETA last thing is I recommend buying non-gross cleaning supplies. Mrs Meyers clean day everything and bounty paper towels=not unpleasant.

@agold:
thanks lady! yeah, it's annoying but it DOES take hours, at least in the season we're in rn with these super young babies. I'm booked solid with good quality freelance and I get to see the babies so much more, so it's going okay
thanks for the nice thoughts, I hope you find a little more balance if you're craving it.

@LCTBQE: I need to be better about getting F to clean up his own stuff.... I know they clean up stuff at school. I even picked him up recently, and he put away the toy he was using before we left without being asked. I was thinking, "Excuse me, why are you not doing this at home?" haha. And yay for freelancing! I work from home once a week now and I LOVE it. It's refreshing to be in my house alone. And not gonna lie, I get a lot of cleaning done in between working...
