I know you guys aren't doctors (well not all of you ) but looking for anyone's experiences.
My daughter (17 months) has been having ear infections almost constantly since October. Her ped doesn't want to talk ear tubes until spring when the weather is better, to see if its just all these germs (and she's in daycare) or if it is her ears.
I don't love her being on antibiotics, but I trust the doctors in waiting. My only concern is if we say "Olivia come find me!" she can hear us, and she knows we want her to find us in the house, but for the life of her she cannot figure out where the sound is coming from. She'll wander around the house, in circles, look everywhere as we are saying it to her until she finds us via process of elimination. (We don't have a big house haha).
Is this normal for a 17 month old? I'm wondering if she's having trouble hearing with all the ear infections / fluid / etc. I randomly got an ear infection and couldn't hear much out of that ear for a month.
And if she is having trouble hearing, could that affect her language skills?
I'm not concerned about her development, but I want to make sure we aren't ignoring an issue that could have longer affects.
