Did you feel it? I wonder how far away it reached.
I guess it was centered in southern Maine - but I felt it very clearly 20 minutes north of Boston!
Crazy! First earthquake for me!

I live about 45 minutes from where it was centered - whole house was shaking!
This was the biggest I've felt while in the northeast, but lived in Seattle during a much larger one where the wood floor of my house rippled like waves!

I felt it in downtown Boston. It's weird, such a vertigo like feeling. This is the 3rd one I've felt in Boston, but definitely the strongest.

@rachiecakes: I immediately went to my iphone, first checked Google and couldn't find anything, so went to twitter. Ahh twitter, giving me my news ages ahead of any news outlet.

I had to pick DH up at the hospital & thought something was wrong with the car or I was unreasonably upset about the situation because something seemed to be shaking! Then fb informed me, it was neither I nor the car- it was the earth!

My parents felt it down on the South Shore. I saw on facebook that it happened so I called them to see if they felt it. Apparently my dad had complained that his desk was shaking and my mom told him he was crazy. He was quite pleased when I proved him correct : )
