I use Cetaphil Restoraderm cleanser & lotion for my daughter & my nephew uses Vanicream soap & cream. I think that both are available @ Walgreens & Amazon.

We use the baby Dove brand of soap, cerave for an all over lotion, and aquaphor for eczema spots.

Both of the above suggestions are excellent. I have also had good luck with the cleanser called Mustela Stelatopia. Between that, plain old Dove sensitive bar soap, and Vanicream, we manage.
I also use Aveeno colloidal oatmeal baths on occasion.

@bubblegum: We use Aveeno oatmeal bath packets for most of our batbtimes. A half packet works great. Once or twice a week I use Cetaphil soap along with the oatmeal.

We used these bubble pods when my daughter had heat eczema this summer and it really helped:

Currently we are using Weleda. I forget the exact name but it is from their baby line and has calendula and is a hair and body wash. We are using CeraVe cream in the tub and also have great success with Tubby Todd’s All Over Ointment for spot treatment.

@SweetCaroline: @Tanjowen: when you use the oatmeal packets, does it leave your bath really gross and dirty? I only used them once or twice but the bath was a pain to clean after.
I usually use regular cetaphil cleanser then use cetaphil lotion after- it works better for my girl than aquaphor. But it’s not perfect so I’m reading for those times when her skin is worse.

I used baby Eucerin and baking soda. I added the Eucerin creme at night and during the day as well. The baking soda really helped. He has basically cleared up with minimal dry skin due to the cold weather here!

@Foodnerd81: I keep a cup in the tub and rinse it down after bath and no issues.

@Foodnerd81: yeah, but we have a removable shower head so I just rinse the tub down after it drains.

We use Dove sensitive bar soap, and then we moisturize with Cerave (in the jar). In the winters when her eczema gets really bad, we layer coconut oil and then vaseline on top of the Cerave.

@bubblegum: We use Aquaphor Baby Wash & Shampoo. It's the only thing that doesn't aggravate my child's sensitive skin!

For lotions, we use Vaseline (or any other 100% Petroleum Jelly). When that doesn't work, we've used a Hydrocortisone ointment as well as prescription ointments and creams.

Another vote for Vanicream. I'm allergic to a lot of chemicals as well as scent, so that's what I use. It's very gentle, but cleans well.
(They also make shampoo, under their 'Free and Clear' name, so check that out too!)

If there's a gluten allergy, beware of the Aveeno Oatmeal products. It made my eczema worse.

@Adira: DH is at the store as we speak getting Aquaphor. Keeping my fingers crossed it's the perfect fit.

We recently moved back to new England, and therefore changed pediatricians. We had been using Cerave lotion, and it was doing a good job, until the really dry cold air hit.
Our new pediatrician told us there is a difference between lotion and cream - we should be using the Cerave cream (in a tub). Basically lather her up in lots of cream before bed. Its made a huge difference!
(full disclosure her eczema is not a problem at all, we've been able to control it completely - however I have it and it runs in my family, so I'm trying to be hyper vigilant and prevent it as much as possible)
