(I wasn't sure where to post this so please move if in wrong board!)
OK so naturally everyone at work is curious about my plans before maternity leave. When I say that I *plan* on working as long as possible, so as not to burn through maternity leave while waiting for labor, I get the following reactions:
"What are you going to do if you go into labor at work??" Valid - although I believe that you have a little time between first contractions and actual labor especially if it's a first child. But even if not, oh well- I'd rather NOT stay at home for 2 weeks waiting baby if she's late!
and
"Oh no! What if your water breaks here? I'll be scarred for life! Gross!!!"
OK strange way to put it, but I think this is valid too. I'm actually terrified of this one. Is it like the movies, where a torrent of water gushes out and floods the floor and everyone along with it? OK yes being dramatic. But seriously, is it embarrassing? Should I wear like... a pad... to preemptively prevent "water breaking at work and splashing all over the place and thus scarring everyone for life"?
Insight on the water breaking especially please
