Just looking for anyone who has used or might used an egg or sperm donor.
I've been TTC for 3.5 years and I'm 44. I've had 5 IUI's, 1 natural BFP but MC'd, 2 IVF's. So now it's on to using an Egg Donor.
Just hoping to find some support...

Hi. I've been TTC almost 3.5 years. I've also done IUIs and IVF with one pregnancy that ended in MC. I'm not doing donor eggs, but I am getting started in the donor embryo process.

@Mmsva: This girl, Jessah, writes a lovely blog in which she discusses, amongst other TTC things, her recent use of an egg donor which results in a BFP! You might find some good information there.

We never got as far as using DE but considered it as one of our options after a failed IVF and m/c's. I'm in my 30s but have severe DOR. Sending you love and support and wishing you success on your journey!

@Leialou: We just started too. We filled out the paperwork, getting the testing done and our psychological meeting is next week. I've done the Mock Embryo Transfer. Waiting for AF to do the test EEP. (Doing estrogen shots to test how my lining reacts to it). We've already pick our donor. We had to use Frozen because our clinic didn't have any fresh Asian donors only frozen. How far along the process are you?
@CupQuakeWalk: Thanks!
@MrsMcD: Thanks for that blog. It's great, but I was hoping she would talk more about the emotional journey of not using your own genetics.
@brownie: Will PM
@spaniellove: Thanks!

@Mmsva: So glad to hear you were able to find an Asian donor (assuming you are Asian yourself) - that was an obstacle for me in my search!

@spaniellove: I am Asian. Luckily my clinic has partnered with clinics around the country to create a Frozen donor bank. In my area there are lots of caucasian and african-americans, so they have partnered with clinics that have more asian and hispanic donor. I feel very lucky!

@Mmsva: my RE doesn't do donor embryos so she gave us a couple of recommendations. So far we chose one, sent in an application, and got accepted. Now we are filing out some more paperwork for them, getting blood work, and researching agencies to do a home study for us. We're 6-10 months out from transfer.

@Leialou: You have to do a home study? Like an adoption? Wow, I feel lucky that we dont have to do that here. And my clinic not only has fresh donors, but also frozen donor bank. I'm hoping for transfer in 6-8 weeks.

@Mmsva: we sure do. We looked into a clinic that didn't require it, but we got a better vibe from the place we chose.
