My Dad lives with us and I asked him to make comfort food - so pot roast it is. I'll grab a bottle of wine and also make some lipton sour cream onion dip with fritos scoops. And probably ice cream.
Yes, I eat my stress all the time.

@bpcmarj: We have chili planned tonight and I was just thinking we needed some Fritos Scoops!

@T.H.O.U.: oh man, chili and fritos is one of my all time favorite combo, but DH hates both so I never get it.
We're doing spaghetti, caprese and wine! Easy comfort food, plus my SIL is coming over to watch the election results with us so I wanted something that felt a little nice without being a lot of work.

I was planning on stuffed peppers. More work for me, but the kids love them. They were really into pinteresty food on Halloween, so if someone has any easy election themed ideas I may get fancy...

@hellobeeboston: I literally cannot wait to get home and eat. lol.
Can someone tell me a cheap wine that would pair well with beef roast, chips, and anxiety?!?!?

@bpcmarj: The Yellow Tail "Big Bold Red" is actually really good! You can find it most places too, and it's $10 or less.

I was going to order in, but now I'm thinking cooking will be a nice distraction. Going to make a simple chicken and rice meal.

We are doing grilled cheese, soup, and salad. Super easy but still good comfort food. Probably lots of Halloween candy as dessert and/or anxiety snacks as the night goes on.

@kiddosc: @hellobeeboston: I got frazzled in the liquor store and went with Cupcake Red Velvet. I'm sure it will do the trick.

@bpcmarj: I like the apothic red wines, apothic crush or apothic dark.
Nothing special for dinner but I bought my favorite guilty treat, chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches from trader joe's, to eat later.

We’re doing turkey burgers & tots because that felt “American” to me. May see if the grocery store has some pie to round out the theme.

I'm going to make seared scallops with a parmesan risotto and either spinach or asparagus. DH bought some wine to go with it.

I made enchiladas yesterday so I didn't need to do anything but put them in the oven. And wine. And beer. And hell, maybe vodka.

@T.H.O.U.: by the way—haven’t seen your name in a LONG time. Were you a different name? Welcome back!?

I went for homemade rice krispy treats and dark chocolate. By the time I settled down to watch the news, I needed tea to calm down and this went well with it.

I had Bailey's in my decaf and then stress ate a bunch of sugary cereal. (this was after dinner)
