DH really wants a forward facing carrier and it looks like both BabyBjorn (One) and Ergo (360) make a carrier that has this option while being more hip friendly than other options. I'm not looking to get into a debate about whether forward carrying is healthy or not -- DH really wants to be able to front-carry LO and I'm okay with it. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with both the Ergo 360 and the BabyBjorn One and would recommend one over the other and why? Thanks!

There was a review by one of favorite baby gurus, "The Baby Guy". He said the ergo 360, so that's why I'm suggestion it. Everything he's recommended I've really loved.

I haven't tried either of those, but my Beco Gemini can face forward. I have only tried it a couple of times and didn't really like it, but having that option is what swayed me to the Beco over the Ergo.

I think the Ergo 360 just came out last week, so I don't know how many people will have experience with it. Wellroundedny did a whole series about using it in NYC last week. It might give you some perspective...

We like our Beco Gemini a lot. I wouldn't want to forward face a tiny baby because their head's too floppy, and the Gemini gives you a lot of flexibility because it can be used inward facing, forward facing, hip carry or back carry.

@NorCalWayfarer: I feel like my comment was unclear- I didn't like having her face forward, but I love my beco Gemini! We just always have her facing in. She looks around to the side and up at me, and it's more comfortable for me. But she can face forward too.

Two other carriers that are supposed to be great and safer for forward facing than traditional Bjorn carriers (in terms of hip development) are iAngel and Pognae. They're similar styles, both with a hipseat component. I don't own one because we have wayyyy too many carriers already, but am tempted to buy for baby #2 - my friends who have them love them.

How old is your LO?
We didn't use a carrier that could forward face for DH but instead got a backpack style carrier (an Osprey Poco). We started using it once LO was able to sit when put in a sitting position - so at around 6m. DH and LO love it. Maybe this would be an option too? -
@pastemoo: That's a good idea. Or at least going into BBB and trying them on. We're looking for something both DH and I can use.
@PinkElephant: Thanks -- hadn't heard of those. And the BabyBjorn One and Ergo 360 are both supposed to be better than the traditional "crotch danglers" so that's why I'd be okay with either of them too.
@Pumuckl: LO isn't scheduled to arrive until July so we're just researching gear for our registry. We already have a wrap that I'll use when LO is tiny. I bet DH would be interested in the backpack style carrier too, especially for taking on hikes. Thanks!
