Despite my pleas of no more stuffed animals. My kids received 8 more HUGE stuffed animals from the ILs this Christmas. We have no room for stuffed animals in our house. Each child has a basket of overflowing stuffed animals in their room plus two baskets in playroom. I've gone through their stuffed animals and have large garbage bags of them I need to get rid of... What do I do with them? I've tried giving them away on FB but no takers. Is there a charitable place I can donate? Or just go the goodwill route?

I think most places will refuse used stuffed animals. I would try either an animal shelter or just put in one of the bins that recycles fabric.

@skipra: They haven't been used, most still have tags on them. My kids don't play with stuffed animals so they literally sit in the corner untouched.

I'm trying to figure out what to do with some of ours, as well. I wonder if there are shelters or women's centers that would take them as something for the children?

I've donated to our local homeless shelter. Ours too are never used. my kids just don't' play with them.

Goodwill! I donated some last week.

I don't know if they do this everywhere but here police departments and fire stations will take them to give to kids when there's a fire or car accident, etc.

Maybe a foster care organization? Here in AZ there are lots of nonprofits that work alongside / support CPS by creating care packages, providing needed supplies, etc. Might be a good comfort when children are taken from their home with pretty much just the clothes on their backs.

My older son is a stuffie addict. Send them to us. KIDDING. I can't stand all the stuffies everywhere!

I just have to say that I hate stuffed animals and I cringe when people buy them for my kids. Thankfully it's not very often!

Are you talking about relocating "plush treasures?":) LOL! My daughter loves, loves, loves stuffed animals. It's so hard to get her to let go. Just wanted to let u know...I can visualize the problem you are having!

We donate bags and bags of clothes and toys to goodwill a few times a year.

I hate stuffed animals with a passion. I donate to a children's home, women's and children's shelter, or goodwill!

@Canoli: same here!! I told MIL we don't need anymore stuffed animals but she seems to be sending them monthly out of spite now.

Children's Hospital. Women's shelter. The health system I work for has a Children's Resource Center that accepts donations. Foster placement/adoption agency.
