Oh your poor LO! I don't have any experience but I'm sorry you have to go through this! My sister was just talking about this after her son fell and hit his mouth but the teeth weren't knocked out. She started reading about it anyway and was telling me what you just said. Hope your LO is feeling ok after all this.

@littlejoy: I'm sorry. I had my two front teeth knocked out in first grade while playing cops and robbers. I ran into a shorter boy's head. I was much older but my teeth were late coming in so I think it was three years before my adult teeth came in. I looked goofy and sang a lot of "all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" but I was otherwise fine and that was with 80s technology.

A good friend's 3 year old knocked out both front teeth on a coffee table last year. Honestly, I don't think most people even think about it because it's so common to see kids without teeth and no one really thinks about at what age they should be when teeth are missing. My husband has asked her twice now about the tooth fairy and I've had to remind him that she doesn't know who that is. Ha ha. It's far more traumatic for the parents!

I think its better that the tooth gets knocked out versus getting pushed up and damaging the adult tooth. My nephew had his baby damaged and it was grey and weird looking. They eventually just pulled it.

My younger brother got his front teeth knocked out when he was 3. He didn't have teeth for almost 4 years but when the adult ones came there were no issues. He didn't need braces or anything.

And it was fine because most kids loose their teeth eventually, so I don't think anyone ever really noticed. He got the adult teeth around when other kids end up getting theirs.
