Dh and I both have brown eyes and our oldest was born with blue eyes. He is 5.5 years old and they have remained blue.

My oldest child's eyes changed from blue to green around 4! I thought that was late. I have hazel eyes and my husband has green. His little brothers are still blue at 5.

@bubblegum: they were looking hazel before a year. I think since 1.5-2 that they appear brown. Only time will tell.

DD was born with blue eyes. They went from a dark blue, to a lighter blue, to gray from birth to a little before one. Right around one they started to look more brown but have shifted to more hazel looking now at 2.5.

I had really dark brown eyes as a kid that turned more hazel as a teenager, so you never know!

My DH has light blue eyes and I have brown. My DS's eyes were navy when born and slowly lightened. They were more light blue when he was a baby, but now they are more grey/blue sometimes greenish in the right light. My DD's eyes were also navy blue when she was born but definitely light blue by 3 months and have stayed.

Similar to @superkate: story....I have blue eyes, DH has brown (but his mom has blue). We have 3 LOs, and 2 of them have blue eyes. The one's that turned brown were definitely a different sort of blue when she was born -- darker, maybe more navy-ish? Something that definitely didn't look as clear blue as the other 2 did when they were born! We were pretty positive from the very beginning that they would change.

DS was born with the dark gray blue newborn eyes. They stayed a lightened up blue/gray until about 18 months when the centers turned hazel- now at 2.5 they are hazel with blue on the outside, so look anything from gray to blue to green depending on the light.

My kids were both born with dark slate blue eyes. DD's eyes changed to dark brown by around 4 or 5 months. DS is 7 months and I still have no idea what color his are. In some lights they look gray, in others they look green-ish. They are quite dark though so I am assuming they will turn brown but just take longer than his sister's.

DH and I both have brown eyes but my mom's were green and DH's sister has blue, so there's a slight possibility that DS's eyes could stay non-brown.

@bubblegum: No, I don't remember them getting lighter. They got murkier until one day I realized they were dark brown instead of muddy gray/blue like before.
