Just for fun, I was wondering what the advertising algorithms have wrong about you.
Facebook seems to think I have a very large chest and that I'm looking for cycling equipment. My small breasts and I have no plans to take up cycling.

Ha! Facebook seems to have both my husband and I pretty spot on. We must fit the algorithm really well. Instagram explorer however, thinks I want a big family (it was a tough decision to go for two for us) and keeps giving me pregnancy/newborn tips (my youngest is 18 months).

Funny! Like @BadgerMom, Facebook seems to think that I have a newborn or am looking to expand my family/am pregnant. Definitely NOT the case!!
On the other hand, they've correctly identified that I'm super into lawn care all of the sudden...

Haha! My Facebook ads are all clothes for baby girl or for me. They’re spot on with the baby clothes. My daughter is 4 mo and I can’t get enough of the girly outfits. And the clothes for me would normally be quite enticing, and I’ve clicked through several of them (probably why they keep showing up) but there’s just no incentive to buy them when I’ve got nowhere to wear them...

With all the working from home I get ads on facebook for scientific companies that I use for research like Epigentek or Qiagen.

I quit Facebook, but Instagram has really overestimated how many masks I need - every ad I get there is for mask retailers.

I just wish the algorithms knew when I actually bought a thing and stopped related ads after that. We recently shopped for a mattress and BAM! Ads for every mattress company I never knew existed nonstop. But then we picked and bought one and they still won’t go away. Same with a recent sheet set purchase. I’m done now! Stop selling me more stuff I have! 🤣

Not me but my husband got a book out of the library (not on hold, not connected to an email account, just walked in and grabbed) on negotiating....and that night on FB there was an ad for negotiating. He was shocked and horrified.

@pachamama: This happened to me recently too! My husband showed me a book while we were in a bookstore while on vacation. I'd never heard of the book before, we didn't say the title out loud, nothing, and then later that day I saw an ad for it. Creepy AF.
On ads in general, my friends and I joke that we have "FBI guys" who are watching us and feeding us ads. My FBI guy has me pretty spot on for the most part (creative edibles like mochi ice cream that I dropped $60 on thanks to an ad, and cheesy gifts for sending to my friends), but the thing that doesn't fit is higher end clothing retailers (J. Crew, Ann Taylor, etc.) I don't shop at these places nor have any reason to with pandemic WAH, but I get ads for that stuff constantly.

Not recently, but while we were in the middle of a major renovation in 2016 Facebook served me an ad for a concrete bunker for our back yard.
I am not nor have I EVER been in the market for a bunker.
Like others, Instagram explore has WAY more baby/pregnancy content than I want right now. I keep searching for other things, but I can’t make it stick. I used to get the coolest nature/travel content, but now it’s just wall to wall babies.

@Corduroy: I have to laugh because fb has the opposite idea for me - I’m always getting ads for this Pepper brand that caters to the Itty Bitty T***y Committee (their slogan!) - I have never been in that club in my life and don’t know where it got that idea!

@Corduroy: Mine is feeding me wedding dresses. I was looking up wedding gifts for a wedding I attended via zoom, but LOL.
