If you have a fake Christmas Tree, where did you buy it and how much was it?
I'm thinking if I get a fake tree, I want something with snow, like this. Flocked or Frosted. But they're SO expensive?

My parents bought a prelit tree from Lowes.

I got ours at a day-after-christmas sale for 60% off at Home Depot. I think I paid like $150ish for 9 foot tree prelit with white lights.

We have a prelit one that we got from Wal-mart on sale. It's 7' tall and not too "fluffy" since our place is small. I love big fluffy trees though!!!

We got ours used but I would look at black friday sales. Also, consider getting it after Christmas (helpful for this year, I KNOW) when they go 75% off!

Walmart has pre-lighted trees. I think the one my mom bought was less than $80 and it's a 6 foot tree. We don't have a tree yet and probably will wait until we have a LO, but I'm prepared to spend $15/foot for a good fake tree.

So, where does everyone recommend to go for the after Christmas sales? We won't be around, but I plan to send my parents to get us a prelit tree.
Target? Home Depot? Walmart? Costco?

We got one from Lowes and it was important to see it in person first!
I didn't mind spending a bit more because I wanted a good quality tree that will last for years. I didn't want the pine needles falling off! You want all the branches to be adjustable as well.

I got a 9 foot prelit for $40 after Christmas at JC Penney about 6 years ago and still use it. I think we might start with the real tree either this year or next.

@shopaholic: We got ours from Frontgate. It was very expensive. We got a 9 foot tree and I think when all was said and done we spent a little less than $1k for tree, bag, etc.

We got a great one from sam's club. It was $140 and comes pre-lot with a remote and stuff. Love it!!!

We're still not sure if we're going to do real or fake, but the fake one we have been using the past couple of years was from Target. I got it for $25 on Black Friday!

If you are even just a little bit crafty, you can buy a cheaper tree and flock it yourself.

@Mae: @rachiecakes: @looch: @mediagirl: I did keep an eye out for after-christmas sales last year with no luck. I was hoping to find a metallic one for fun. I might just get a real tree this year and look for another one afterwards again.

Personally, I love the smell of a real tree, but I can't deal with the watering and the needles. I also love that our tree is pre-lit.

Hobby Lobby has lots of sales (like 40-50% off every other week) on their trees, but definitely shop around, because I think their base prices may be inflated to offset the "sales."

DH and I are gonna use our old pre-lit tree this year, but then go to Hobby Lobby after Christmas for a new one. The one we have now used to be my mom's and it's definitely seen better days.

We got ours on Craigslist for $40 and we love it. Bonus of going secondhand is it's the most environmentally-friendly way of getting a tree (newly purchased fake trees are frequently made from PVC).
