Growing up, I always had real trees because my dad would take us bright and early the 1st week of Christmas and let us help choose a tree, and we'd strap it back on the car and all go home. I definitely want to do this as a tradition with my kids one day, but right now she's not even 2 and won't appreciate it as much, so DH and I are going to continue to put up the fake tree for a few more years until our kids get older. I'm partial to REAL trees though, I love the smell of fresh pine in the house - it makes everything feel so festive and alive! What about you? Real or Fake?

We have a fake tree! I wish we had a real one just because of the smell but for us, a fake one is just a bit more convenient. Maybe when our kids are much older!

I LOVE real trees, but DH has a bazillion allergies and we're not sure how he'll react to a real tree in the house. So, since we got married, we've been using a fake tree.
I think we'll try a real one someday and see how he does because I miss it so much.

I always grew up with a real tree, but now me and DH have a fake one because we live in an apartment and it's easier. My brother actually sells Christmas trees every year so he lets family get them at cost for $22, so once we get a house next year we will get a real tree, and I can't wait! My pine scented plug in isn't doing it justice

We have a fake tree. Our cat ruined the last real tree we had. We burn Christmas tree scented candles so we can still have the smell of a real tree.

Real!!! I grew up ALWAYS having a real tree; it was our tradition to go out the day after Thanksgiving and pick one out.

I've always wanted a real tree, but my family got one when I was young and I was allergic to it. My parents "don't remember" what kind it was, so I'm too scared to get one now. We haven't had a tree at all the past two years because husband cares nothing for holiday decorations and won't let me justify spending money on them. Makes me a little sad :(.

We have an artificial one but I buy pine essential oils and burn them in my warmer.

We just bought a pre lit fake tree from Frontgate. I'm so excited! We had been buying real trees and stringing the trees with lights was such a pain. DH gets frustrated easily and I always ended up putting the lights on by myself. Not fun.

it's funny cause i am partial to fake trees b/c that's what i grew up with, while the hubs is partial to real trees cause they always had them at his house. he makes fun of me when i talk about thinking it was special "putting the tree together" every year as part of the decorating.

REAL! I understand the convenience of a fake tree, but nothing can compare to the scent and feel of a real tree. Plus it's so fun to go cut down/pick out.

I voted for real, but we have a fake tree for now. We have ended up traveling during the holidays for the last few years, so it just makes sense for us to not have to worry about a real tree that needs to be watered/could catch fire/etc. We grew up getting a real tree every year, though, so I would love to do that again!

We chop down our own real tree each year. I don't really get the point of fake trees. In years when we don't get our act together to chop down a real tree or if we're going out of town, we just skip getting a tree altogether.

We chopped down our own when we lived in NorCal, up in the Santa Cruz Mountains. (They have tree farms up there.) Now we live in Iowa, and I think there are tree farms here too, so we're going to find one for next weekend...

Fake and prelit for convenience. I always had a fake one growing up. We had a real one for two years when I was a teenager and the upkeep and setting up was too much of a hassle.

Real! I've never had a fake tree, but my husband grew up with them. He wouldn't care if we didn't even have a tree, so I get what I want, which is real. The fake ones just don't do anything for me.
