We have a fake tree, which I also prefer for cost and convenience. Until I was about 10 we had real trees every year and it was always annoying with the shedding needles and our dog getting into them. When I was 10 my parents decided not to get a tree that year because the Christmas tree farm we got them at normally had closed, everywhere else was really expensive, and they had decided to get a fake tree but wanted to wait until the after Christmas sales. So they weren't going to have a tree at all I was really into Christmas traditions even then, so I got really sad that we didn't have a tree and my dad cut down a branch from a big pine in our yard and we had the saddest little Charlie Brown tree ever.

Growing up we always had a real tree. I love the tradition of picking it out, and decorating it. DH always had a fake tree, and they don't decorate it each year. They just put a tarp over it with all the ornaments still on it, and put it in the basement so they don't have to re-decorate each year . DH got his first real tree with me, and he is sold! I have severe allergies, so he has to water it, and tend to it though

DH looooves real trees. We had to have a fake one for the past few years due to our apartment's rules, but he is counting down the days to getting a real one! I don't have a major preference though.

We mostly had fake growing up. My husband refuses fake, so we get a real one now. It's a mess!

We LOVE real trees but until they're easier to acquire (in our neck of the woods), we're sticking with our little fake one. But since we're staying in this winter, maybe we'll go out of the way and find a real one.

I grew up having a fake tree, but DH grew up always getting real ones. We got our first real one last year, and I loved it. We moved to a small house recently, so I don't know that a real one will fit lol unless it's small

Always real , except the two years we lived in an apartment and told it had to be fake.

Real....but we both grew up rurally and cut our trees from our own land. I've never paid for a Christmas tree in my life.

Real! We brought out the same tired fake one every year growing up and every year I begged for a real tree. The year DH and I bought our first house I got my first real tree and it was every bit as special as I thought it would be! Now I wont have anything else!

Real all the way! Thankfully my husband would never go for a fake tree either.
