Been thinking about this lately, both because my insurance company asked me about it and also because I just visited my parents.

My dad's only sibling died of lung cancer at a relatively young age... but he smoked for a long time. He stopped, but there was probably just too much damage from his years of smoking.

My parents have had long lives and are still with us! My grandparents didn't make it quite as long, except for my mom's mom who is still physically with us... but mentally not here anymore.
